Kicking it off with a really cool creature feature, in theaters now, Beware Boiuna. There aren’t too many giant snake horror films. I mean, sure you have Anaconda, but that was forever ago. No disrespect to the JLo vehicle, but Beware Boiuna delivers on the suspense, tension and chaotic nature you’d expect from a killer snake film.

Boiuna is apparently from Brazilian folklore. It’s an ancient mythological snake working as like a protectorate of the balance of the Amazon. Really cool!

The main difference and the real reason this film works is the excellent character acting by the cast and what I think is the real crowning gem of a future scream queen in Kiana Madeira. She’s absolutely terrific. A real test for an actor as they put the poor girl through hell.

The suspense is masterfully built by Mike P. Nelson as he follows the Jaws blueprint of less is more when it comes to showcasing the creature.

This film really blew me away from start to finish and I think really delivered on everything you’d expect from a killer snake movie. 4/5 stars…Richleau says…check it out!

yeah, it's a lot less softcore porn, a lot more horror and thriller. Man what a crap film Wifelike was. Man.

That's the strange part. The culture was fine last year. This year, it's just different. Everywhere Elko has gone, the culture improved, hell with Duke, the culture is still quality. So something is off this year. I really don't know what it could be. Probably Marcel cause that guy sucks arse. Elko took a big gamble maintaining continuity, holding that little fricker's hand, building the entire offense around him, etc. But Elko also gambled on the running backs we had. He chose not to go out and get some dudes to help bolster the room. That was a mistake. Owens is not a difference maker and outside of him and Morrow, all we had were two fish. It doesn't help that the WRs have been banged up, but yeah, as far as evaluations go, we failed at TE, at defensive line, in the secondary, at linebacker, I mean, what the frick man? He's never had a team look so poor, even at Duke.

I’ll start with a newer entry: Soulm8te. This more adult spinoff of M3gan features an interesting story about the dangers of loneliness and the adherence to technology to fill the void.

It plays out pretty much as expected but it’s inventive enough to make this B-movie level film very entertaining and in parts surprising.

The gore is kicked up a notch compared to M3gan’s pg-13 level of violence and there’s enough twists to keep one’s interest throughout.

Go into it thinking while it may not completely surprise you, it’ll sure as hell tell an interesting story. 3/5 stars. Richleau says…check it out!

yeah I don't like the gross out films that much. Check out the ones I recommended. They are quite something. Giallo adjacent isn't giallo my friend. I do wonder what your opinion would be.

excellent choices, I especially loved Dellamorte, Dellamore. Since you're delving into the delightfully strange italian horror. Perhaps a dip into The Church and Demons as well?

There are so many wonderful films that delightfully strange and macabre.
