Just let them drain all their money, neuter their properties and destroy themselves from within. It’s fine. Movies like hokum and obsession prove that folks will turn out for quality, original storytelling. So let the tent pole movies die on the vine. It’s healthy. Just don’t go see their manipulative crap.

Two brands that you had to try hard to frick up.
Star Wars and Bud Light.
But somehow against all odds they managed to do it.
Unbelievable when you think about it.
Destruction of two massive brands by intentionally doing the stupidest thing possible.

Agreed, but these are behemoths that are only in very small part these brands. They are fine to sacrifice them as the message is paramount above all. It’s indeed sick and weird, but so is their ideology. Anyway, Obsession rules. Have yall tried texting Nikki? +1 (724) 876-4554

No it didnt. Good God, Disney and critics will do everything in their power to always blame ESTABLISHED pre-Disney SW fans.

Relative to what? Certainly not Star Wars. It was already announced that it was the lowest domestic opening for a Disney Star Wars film.
If a horror movie with a budget of less than $1 million is already beating a new Star Wars movie at the box office, at the beginning of summer, Disney should be firing people.

Whaaa?
Those basement dwelling grifters who have been telling us that Star Wars is dead for how many years were right?

Not sure if you actually believe obsession is ahead in the box office or not but...
Star Wars box office $176 million released May 22
Obsession box office $100 million released May 15

I would hope that a film made for over $150 million would be ahead of a film made for $750,000. The fact that an original IP made on a shoe string budget is so close to a film that belongs to what was once the most lucrative film franchise on the planet should tell you something.

Obsession is doing great.
Winning a Wednesday by $1 million after losing the weekend by by $60+ million isnt beating anyone though.
Thats like Auburn saying they beat Milwaukee yesterday after going down 10-0

In what world is $26M ROI more than $99.25M and that probably doesn't account for Disney's adsurb marketing expeditures.

It also finished ahead of it on Thursday and is tracking to finish ahead of it at the box office this weekend. The Mandalorian and Grogu is tracking to finish #3 at the domestic box office in its second weekend - which is absolutely terrible for a Star Wars film.

Obsession is worthy of the hype it’s getting. Great movie.

My 16 yr old son and his buddies wanted to see Obsession. He said it was great.
They want see Mando too but it’s more if an obligation. Nobody’s excited about it.

Meanwhile, Disney/Lucasfilm’s Mandalorian and Grogu is taking a big fall, -69%, maybe steeper, with $25M in weekend 2. That’s a bigger crash than Solo: A Star Wars Story which -65% in weekend 2, likely the worst drop for a Star Wars movie. The argument per distribution sources is that the Jon Favreau movie didn’t lose audiences to Backrooms and Obsession, it’s just that the core Star Wars subset fandom for this IP is finite. One distribution source says, “Six weeks from now, it will be interesting to see the following: Mandalorian and Grogu will be at $180M, and Obsession and Backrooms not too far behind, if not ahead.” Ten-day cume by EOD tom’w is $137.3M, -8% behind the same frame as Solo which ended its North American run at $213.7M. Again, Star Wars fans weren’t asking for this movie. And if you’re going to use the “theme parks and merchandise” get-out-of-jail card, Disney, anyone who has a Grogu doll isn’t buying another

If they won’t do KOTOR after this debacle then we will never get it

Maybe enough outlets piling on will teach them a lesson, although doubtful. Filoni is a complete self-absorbed chode and Favreau is a yes man.

Our voices dont matter in this modern economy. They have invested trillions in AI and data centers with zero revenue in sight
I decided to go watch mando in theaters because its the first non-woke movie they've put in theaters since the new leadership.

Also what is the lesson you are trying to enforce? To make less stuff like Andor and Maul and this movie?
They changed from producing woke slop to making great shows and yet u are still protesting. Kinda a mixed signal, they could read it as they need to go back to making more Acolyte since you dont see a difference between that and Andor
