My household is already in spooky season. May I have your favorite horror films?

Sinister
That's my go-to.

As far as stuff from the last 10 years goes, I liked Unfriended, the internet horror movie. You need a big TV though, so you can read all of their texts and PM's to each other.

This is my post that I usually post in these threads:

This is asked often around here. This was one of my responses several years ago with some solid recs and a solid list of threads with recs.

I'll echo some of the ones mentioned here.

As Above, So Below was surprisingly great to me. Pretty cool concept that I feel like they pulled off really well. It's really, really creepy and well done.

Babadook wasn't too great IMO, but it was decent (I just didn't like the ending).

Cabin in the Woods was great, especially if you like meta with your horror. It's fantastic (both as satire and a legit horror movie).

The Houses October Built was decent, but the ending was sort of weird and confusing.

Agree that the first Paranormal Activity was solid. It would've been one of the best horror movies I had ever seen had the trailer not completely ruined the ending. I was super pissed about that.

I've heard good things about It Follows, but I didn't like it near as much as most people on this board. It was just decent, and pretty overrated IMO.

If you like weird, sort of fricked up ones, Megan is Missing is not too bad (but it's pretty twisted though). May not be straight up horror though.

I thought Black Death was pretty solid. Plus, Sean Bean is in it, and he's awesome.

Zombeavers was mentioned, and while it's obviously stupid as frick, it's a fun watch.

House of the Devil is a good, slow-burn horror/thriller, and a throwback to old school horror movies.

You sir are a saint.

Saving for later

We landed on The Lodge which so far has been well done

Although it’s Hulu and has commercials which is annoying

We do a variety but aren’t always horror:

Truck R Treat
Beetlejuice
Halloween
Nightmare on Elm Street
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
The Shining
Nosferatu (Original)
Shaun of the Dead

Do recommend watching The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix as well. While a series, each episode pays homage to a different horror director/sub-genre and it’s really well done.
