Trying to scare some teens and so far they find my picks to be tame.
Tried Excorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Shining.

Thinking the Thing next.

The Conjuring. Anyone else consider this movie one of the scariest?

I've sure they've seen most of the modern classics and J-Horror like The Ring.

Some more out of the box choices:

Open Water
The Orphanage
Kairo
It Follows
The Descent
Event Horizon

Great movie but I never found it to be very scary.

This is a great choice. Not sure why, but this one messed me up for a few nights.

Because it's not

Major/important question... What is their attention span like?

Also, you're showing them these movies during the day?

The Ring usually gets reactions from normies

Conjuring was another good, vanilla suggestion

This all depends on limits. TCM is a great go to but it may get you in trouble

I'm a grown arse dude in my 30s and watched it for the first time last fall. I couldn't sleep well for several nights - it spooked me bigly.

Setup on back patio at night. Things always scarier outside in the dark.

The Stir of Echoes fingernail scene may be the most disturbing scene in a film. Not sure if that's one that they may consider "scary" they like jump scares. But want older movies....
Maybe Candyman.

If we are just going disturbing, Id put the ending to Tusk in the ring. Just thinking back about it gives me the creeps.

How about Working Girl or 9 to 5?

The thought of having to go to work and exist in a world with real people and having to interact with them on a face-to-face basis should scare the !@#$ out of them.
