Movie sucked.
Spoilers:
You are renting a home, and two unidentified people show up and you don't immediately ask for their ID or some kind of proof that they are who they say they are? And then the bitch daughter acting offended in that situation? Then of course they frame the whole thing as Roberts's character being racist, which it did seem like she was being racist? So dumb.
and then you really find out little to nothing about what was really going on. What kind of environmental disaster caused by hackers could possibly cause a massive change in animal migrations in such a short amount of time?
And I guess they were hacking airplane's control systems and crashing them? Isn't that virtually impossible?
What was the Hispanic woman doing on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere freaking out?
What caused the son's sickness and his teeth to fall out? Havanah Syndrome? Extremely unlikely. A biological attack with bugs that would cause such a sickness? Ok.
and then the movie ends with the daughter finally getting to watch Friends, and nothing is explained. Cool.
those are just the ones I can remember.

Everyone trashing it. It wasn’t bad. Lot’s to unpack, some interesting stuff in here.
Not the best movie on the planet, but it should pique your interest and curiosity.
It wasn't bad, but it really wasn't good either.
I know it was supposed to make you think, but hackers, Middle Easterners and Koreans (NorKos?) teaming up?
I understood the dialog about turning people against each other and fracturing/factioning people off and having them turn against the government. But would it have happened so quickly that the military wouild be sriking NYC to take out bridges/cut people off?

I took it to mean that it wasn’t North Koreans or Middle Easterners. I thought the point was that whoever was behind the attack was deliberately sowing disinformation as part of the effort to confuse/divide.

Again I think the point was that it wasn’t any kind of organized military campaign, but a result of fractures within the military and government.
I do agree that it’s extremely unlikely that things would escalate to that level, that quickly.

Watched it last night. It wasn’t good. It tried to be suspenseful but really wasn’t. Wife thought it was just eh. Do not recommend.

I gave my thoughts on this film earlier in the thread (drop the forced racial tension and develop a better ending and it’s ok). One question I do have is did anyone else think the red “smoke” Hawke’s character saw moved like it was being controlled? Like it was a swarm of small objects?

Terrible movie.
Notes and questions unanswered:
Random deer and Flamingo cameos.
Black guy goes to neighbor, let’s himself in, goes to garage, finds satellite phone in cabinet, determines satellites are down. He then goes to beach, sees a watch, finds it attached to an arm, THEN he sees to plane wreckage right in front of him. THEN, almost .gets taken out by ANOTHER plane crash in the same spot, but 2 days after the first one and the runaway ship.
Racial tension, turns to Jungle Fever, with weed and booze. Crisis cause and duration are unknown, but hey, let’ party.
Black guy goes to Kevin Bacon’s house to get some unknown drug to heal the Tooth Fairy’s wet dream. Kevin Bacon’s character is a prepper, who believes in protecting his family. Yet, he inexplicably rats out his prepper neighbor.
Rose leaves without telling the family, somehow finds the unoccupied “bunker house”, and proceeds to pig out and watch tv, rather than report her finding to her family.
White characters like to use “frick” a lot in their conversations, including the young siblings.
Young white boy jerkin it to pics he took of black girl.
Car wreck scene, Julia says,”stay here with the kids while I check this out”. Normal?
New wave of white cars attack. Why the delay?
Poor Spanish women shoulda learned a little English.
Speculation of an attack by multiple counties produced, “ We’ve created a lot of enemies in the world”. Thank you Obama Apology Tour.
I could add more, but This is enough for now.

Correct. It was a false flag (likely by our own government) designed to be blamed on disparate nations.

Yes. And they even took time to inform the viewer of that very clearly at the end.

This is another instance where I'm dumbfounded how someone didn't pick up on a detail that obviously wasn't even trying to be hid from the viewer

Why did I watch this shite?
Yeah, real subtle messaging here. And of course, Ethan Hawke is a literal cuck and total pussy. And Julia Roberts not only craves the BBC, she apologizes for her white racism.
Ans of course, she's immediately offended by everything, because it's racist to be suspicious of people who show up in the middle of the night claiming they are the house owners and you have to leave, and totally not question them when they say they are on the symphony board. frickin' white people!
The Obamas are simpletons.

Also it seemed as though at some point one of the characters said that it was multiple nations/countries working together bc the US made a lot of enemies.
Could have been a FF by the government but more likely we pissed off the world and they are grouping up to get back at the US

Didnt even finish it last night. So dumb. And Julia Roberts is hard to look at these days. The man face doesn't do it for me.

Watched last night. I laughed a bit at the ending. It kept my interest the whole time and thought it was entertaining enough.
Would have rather seen it as a series to see a continuation. I didn’t pay much attention to the race stuff so it didn’t really bother me. Overall tho, isn’t that realistic of the characters? A college aged entitled black female throwing it around? I rich Karen feeling guilt? I didn’t let it ruin the movie for me.

7 pages for a trash Obama funded movie. They've already won.

The race stuff was very mild compared to just about any other movie or tv show these days. Didn’t read the book to know if race was a large component to the narrative, but got the impression that the racial aspects were just shoehorned in because nothing can go out without some sort of messaging regardless of how superfluous. Because I had heard the ending sucked I had very low expectations and was actually okay with the ending. Wouldn’t hate if they picked up where they left off with a sequel. But highly doubt they will. It doesn’t appear to be about the post apocalypse but rather illustrating just how fragile we are as a society.
Frick you for making the most sense!

Did anyone pick up what language was printed on the leaflets?
It was Hebrew, which is the language of Israel.
The Obamas have a disdain for Israel and Barack Hussein made it obvious whenever Netanyahu visited him in Washington, D.C.
I used Google Translate to translate most of the message. It read:
"We ask you to immediately pay attention to what we say in this publication.
We have the most dangerous and destructive explosives in history, and we leave this horrible truth for you to ponder and we emphasize the validity of our...?
I am just using this m(essage) on your land and steps to stop the resistance must be built for submission to (cuts off by G.H.'s thumb).

I used the Google Translate to decipher the same message from Arabic to English.
The message was essentially the same FWIW.
