I’m halfway through the movie and I’m enjoying the shite out of it. A throwback mystery/thriller/creeper. The unraveling storyline gives some answers but provides new mysteries & questions. I hope the last hour is as good as the first.

Gives an M. Night Shyamaylan type vibe. It’s what I was hoping The Happening would’ve turned out to be instead of such a dud.

Good cast: Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, Kevin Bacon.

are half movie reviews the new big thing?

any update on whether it was worth finishing?

the premise seems like it would be better suited to a series than a movie.

It’s a really good movie, definitely worth finishing. It’s not perfect, but it was a well-spent two hours.

People think their opinion matters so much, they can’t wait until the movie is over to give it.

Nah, you got the wrong guy. It's just rare nowadays to find a movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and with every building scene, you realize midway through others might like it, too, if they knew it existed & simply dropped whatever boring, tedious thing they are doing to give it a try.

I see a lot of people disliking how it ended, if you didn’t see that ending coming from a mile away, you are blind.

I liked it. I liked how you never really knew if Mahershala Ali was telling the whole truth or hiding something, I like the tension that is built along the way. The acting was really good, props to Julia Roberts, who had to act like a lunatic in front of nothing during that CGI deer scene.

The only thing that I didn’t really like was the Kevin Bacon information dump to basically tell you what was happening. I would’ve liked to leave that ambiguous building to the big panning up reveal of the city in shambles

Read a couple of reviews on this one. Is the racial tension ham fisted and going to make me roll my eyes or is it believable and important to the story?

I read the book over the summer and liked it. Will check out the movie this weekend.

No, it has nothing to do with the story, and is not believable. They just crammed it in. You know they had to with the executive producers being the Obamas.

It was a decent flick. It sets itself up to have a sequel imo.

Unless the Obama's produced the book the racial tension was there also.

Loved the ending.

Loved the movie.

Only gripe is this should have been a series. Could have gone way deeper into this movie from beginning to end.

I would also watch much more if they picked up right where they left off.

Not going to comment here why I loved the ending unless op puts spoiler in the title.

A slow burn that gives one hope of a good payoff, problem is, the payoff sucks. The racial tension was forced and unneeded. Could a tanker get than close to the beach without grounding? The white male was obviously shown as a clueless, helpless cuck.

I didn't like it and I'm the most lenient film watcher ever. It just didn't connect as apocalyptic. I could say more but won't spoil.
