I hated the entire movie. Suspenseful music playing the entire movie with nothing really happening was the worst thing about the movie only to reveal at the end well… really nothing.

Yea this movie had so much potential but the plot had so many holes leading to so many questions that it left you more annoyed than anything else.

I made it about 3/4 through. Hated Julia Robert's character. I gave it about 15 more minutes when they worked in white ppl are bad and had enough. Don't care how it ends, most of the characters are sp dislikeable so don't care what happens to them. Save yourself the trouble and don't even bother with this turd.

Lot of posters need to stick to Armageddon. Was there a trailer people saw that made them expect a stereotypical Apocalypse movie we have seen a dozen times?

It did something different and actually made you think about the characters and their environment. One poster even admitted to "not paying attention" and missed obvious shite like a fricking plane crash... No wonder the movie was a mystery.

I won't watch because I've always thought Julia Roberts was dog ugly. Horse faced skank.

Add Big Ears and Big Mike into the mix and it's a non starter.

are half movie reviews the new big thing?

There must be something about this movie, which leads people only to wanting to watch halfway. I just listened to Timcast IRL where one of his guest - Luke- said the exact same thing! I couldn’t believe it, (December 12 Harvard show).

How weird is that?

Watched it last night and what a waste of time. The beginning and build up were good but the end was terrible. I kept waiting for more to happen but nothing ever did.

ETA - yes the racial tension was forced and stupid

Trying to make the herd of deer creepy never really made any sense.

Poli post - but sticking the Obama name on it immediately raised some red flags...

The characters were a cliched joke and simply a tool to cram social propaganda into the story, which also sucked.

And the "environment" was an even bigger joke. They set the movie in some remote location with wide open spaces, woods, wild deer and the nearest neighbor is "three miles down the road". OK, plenty of places like that in the expansive US. But then the in the final scene we see a clear view of the Manhattan skyline that would have come from the perspective of Queens or Staten Island. Give me a break. You can't view a city collapse from the wilderness, especially in New York. I guess they just assumed people would think Long Island is a remote rural hideaway for the rich instead of a place where 8 million people are crammed into an area the size of Rhode Island.

one of your biggest issues with the movie used geography for a cinematic shot?

They spent maybe a minute or two on race in this movie.

Then what was the point of that minute or two? If race was not a issue, what was the point of putting it in there for a minute

Kevin Bacon’s character definitely posts on the poli-board.
Overall it was aighttt… left me wanting more. Had a lot of unfilled potential.

Everyone trashing it. It wasn’t bad. Lot’s to unpack, some interesting stuff in here.

Not the best movie on the planet, but it should pique your interest and curiosity.
