Does anyone know what the Hispanic woman on the side of the road was saying? I think I caught something like “you’re the first person I’ve seen all day” or something like that. Was curious what else she was saying, though I doubt it was of any consequence.

Thank God I found someone! I’m trying to get back to my home! I’m lost! I’ve been walking for a while! I need to use your phone! You’re the first person I’ve seen all day! We have to get out of here! I just saw a plane that was spraying red gas in the vicinity. I saw some deer, more than 50. They were coming out of the woods. Please! I need to go home, sir. A military plane appeared and fled. There’s no one around! Is it a chemical attack?

And who was sleeping in the shed, in the bed of leaves?

The teeth falling out thing wasn’t explained that well. Thought that was going to be some gnarly twist and then it was just like whatever.

Movie had a lot of potential, not terrible but not great.

Kind of shocked how much they hung useless, low T males out to dry in this one.

It was mostly inconsequential. “Don’t leave me. Nobody is out here. You’re the first person I’ve seen today.” She did say she saw a plane and something about 50 hopeless people but I wasn’t sure if it was incoherent or I just missed an important word. Mostly frantic disjointed pleadings like you might guess based on the actor’s mannerisms.

The teeth falling out was because of the radiation waves the country was being attacked with I guess exasperated by Lyme disease from the tick bite

The Lyme disease thing felt like it was pulled from the book where you have time to explore something like that. Then in the movie it just felt sloppy and unresolved.

There were a few things like that that were just not up to par with the overall production which was excellent. Even with those misses the movie has you exactly where it wants you with 30 minutes to go. The way the tension grows until then is awesome. From there it’s mismanaged IMO.

It’s still a hell of an effort for 2023 standards. Most Netflix originals are mediocre B movies and most blockbusters are a complete waste of time so it’s nice to see something different.

The race stuff was very mild compared to just about any other movie or tv show these days

Right. It was just from the daughter who they purposefully made unlikable. Typical young know it all that thinks she has it figured out. But doesn’t understand anything.

“Taking some time to figure it all out” after school. Typical rich kid

Agreed. Initially, the atmosphere was a throwback to say an old Bian DePlma thriller Raising Cain/Body Double and the tension that was built reminded me of the uncomfortable suspicions in Arlington Road.

But unlike Arlington Road, which had a perfect twist ending, this one gave an exposition/information dump for the end they had been hinting at all along.

Agreed. They forced the tension with the music throughout and it landed flat in the end.

Fun enough throughout with some head scratching scenes. Did we need the dancing scene and talking about their marriages? They’ve known each other for two days under wild circumstances. But yet find the time to connect…when one spouse is missing and the other in the next room.

The daughter and mother are supposed to be unlikable. Thought it was a solid movie

Never even noticed her armpits, all I saw was nipples and a decent bikini body.

I just finished this….absolute shite ending.

No explanation for the animal stuff. Annoying and unnecessary woke racial crap.

Do not waste your time

That's the way I felt about it. The movie was frustrating to watch the way it strung you along and ended with a lot of things left open .

One of the best movies I’ve seen all year. Tension had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I liked the ending. To me it was a metaphor for how the majority of America ignores what’s going on outside as long as they have their shows to distract them

I’d be in trouble in that situation. I never carry cash lol

Am I to assume from all the crying in here about how the movie presented white people as threats and untrustworthy is that you believe black people to be the opposite? All of you blindly trust black people? Because that doesn't really make it through the rinse, does it? Given the situation in the movie, I'm not trusting anyone, no matter who it is or what color they are.
