"Justified" is a better show than"Breaking Bad"

My favorite tv show of the past 26 years.
Everything about it is top-notch. Perfect casting, great writing, engaging story arcs (season 1is more monster of the week, but with a connecting story arc in the background. Each season after the first centered on a single story arc), perfect use of music, and it never lost track of what it is at it's core and who the characters were at their core.
And it may have the greatest series finale of all time. Every character's story is resolved in a believable way, and even though their story may not have a happy ending, they all have a satisfying ending.
Plus: the theme song is a top 5 tv theme song. Few other themes compliment the show this perfectly. Gangsta Grass' "Long, Hard Times to come" immediately let's you know that you are in for a different kind of crime show.
using"You will Never Leave Harlen Alive" to end every season is just perfect. Best use of a song in tv history. Sober reminder of the fate each character is trying to escape, but knows how inevitable it is.

No it's not, but it's an excellent entertaining show. BB is just complete and has a continuous story line. Justified has mostly individual episodes or seasons, but also has excellent writing and great story lines.
Being from Kentucky, it's always funny to me how he says "i'll run down to Harlan from Lexington", and it's there in 10 minutes, when it's a solid 3 hour drive on some bad roads.

frick It, I’ll go to the Devil’s House with you and agree.
Justified is phenomenal. I’ll even go so far as to say Raylan is a better character than Walt. frick the down votes.

I'll join in, as well. Band of Brothers is the only thing I've watched on TV that I would put above Justified.

Love the original series run, but City Primeval was not very good.

Agree that it was excellent but never watched Breaking Bad so cannot fairly comment there.
While I did like it a lot, I only watched Season 1. Started Season 2, but it was too dark for my taste.

Breaking Bad was very tight once it got rolling. Very few down episodes.
I love Justified but Season 1 was basically villain of the week. The Rappaport season is also not very good imo. Season 2 however is one of my favorite seasons of tv ever.

It’s probably my favorite show of all time up there with Band of Brothers.
The incredible Raylan-Boyd banter plus the gunslinger working for the good guys because his dad was bad just made for incredible tv.
Was crushed at how bad the reboot was.

That’s fair but the season where he locks in against the Bennetts with Margo Martindale as Mags made up for it IMO.

Not great but Rappaport's....."acting" is offset by getting to watch Alicia Witt (sp?).

Both are excellent. They are maybe my top 2 regular series of tv. Season 2 of Justified May be the best season of Tv ever. But I give Breaking Bad the edge because it’s just so complete in the entirety of its storytelling. But again, I adore them both and don’t have a lot of desire to pit then against each other.

Good show, but too many dead people in Justified. It defies belief that murders happened weekly in such a small place.

I just signed up for a 30 day Hulu trial. This is the first show I started watching. Is it not a continuous storyline or is each episode a new story?
Seems like the later which is a bit of a downer. Like the Oliphant kid in everything he’s in.

No way. Justified is fun as hell, but it's not on the same level in many ways.

You just have to keep going. Season 1 is like that but once you hit Season 2 it becomes continuous. Season 2 is amazing television

Justified is in my top 5 favorite shows, but it's not better than Breaking Bad.
