It’s more fun to say we paid him, but I’ve always thought it was ridiculous that a 20 year old would ride a scooter after getting $180,000.

It does not add up.

Had never considered that angle. The kids getting paid now sure are living bigly.

I was thinking Bill wanted someone that he and his young hottie could double date with. :rotflmao:

These assholes are what I worry about. I spend a lot of time screwing around with my flower beds and the love to hide in there. I am very cautious now since we are having a good many of them being sighted. This one was right beside our amenity center and was seen about 5 times in one day. I have no idea why someone didnt grab a shovel and finish his arse off

He'd make a purdy pair of boots!
I'm still in Georgia, and I'm no longer tough. Once upon a time, I thought nothing of 10 to 15 degree weather. Now, I complain if it drops under 50 degrees, very loudly under 40.

I’ve always said I wouldn’t care if it was anyone else in the SEC; but it’s always our rivals.

If we were competitive with our chief rivals, it would not be nearly as bad. Remember when the all-time difference in the DSOR was that one team had won one more game and the other had scored 7 more points?

I've long that that a strong Alabama in the regular season was good for Auburn...if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. And the best was always waiting for us on the last Saturday in November.

Beautiful setting with a couple of caveats:

Stadium felt old and dilapidated to me. By comparison, the oldest SEC stadiums might feel fresh and new. Claustrophobic (low and narrow) tunnels to get in from the concourse to the seating area...ushers limit the number of people who can enter at once.

Stadium is low and wide. Maybe people were generally shorter when it was designed? We stood for the entire game because we could not have seen anything otherwise.

Stadium is adjacent to a golf course that seemed to be the main parking area. We walked maybe a mile each way.

YMMV substantially, but flights were a challenge for us. I remember that we had a very hard time finding flights to LA. We ended up flying into Orange County/Irvine/John Wayne, staying in Irvine, driving to and from Pasadena on gameday (~90 min. each way?), and driving down to San Diego (~90 min. to 2 hours?) the next day for the flight home. A lot of driving but really no more than a normal football gameday (north Atlanta to Auburn and back). On the plus side of that, John Wayne and San Diego are smaller and much easier to deal with than LAX.

All of that said, southern Cali was a nice break from a Georgia winter.

That was a painful memory.

I was there (so I'm told), but my memory of that evening has been "wiped clean as a Clinton's hard drive." Love Sammie, but have no desire to revisit.

I'm quite certain that his family's hatred of freedom and love of tyranny is the reason they left Soviet Russia.
TJ Finley in the portal, AGAIN!

It's rich that one of the reasons he cites for his "challenging" last 2 years, and thus one of the reasons he wants a seventh (7th!!!) year of eligibility, is the "adversity he faced off the field."
I don't get the hate for this kid. Understood that he's brash, cocky, and on the obnoxious side, but he's done a lot with apparent modest physical ability. How can you not love an underdog who works his arse off?

Granted, could use a heapin' helping of humility, but he's got a chip on his shoulder and plays like it. If I were going to war, I'd sure want him on my side and would pity any enemy who didn't.

Unless the rest of y'all, he beat my team three years in a row (not that huge of a task lately), twice in Jordan Hare.
Risk/reward

With so much changing between now and next year (players opting opt, transferring, new staff), could you put anything meaningful on the field or do anything really constructive with two weeks to prepare?

With a minimal, at best, upside, there's also the risk of one (or more) players suffering a catastrophic injury.

I just hope he understands that you have to have talent to win in this league. I hope he doesn’t underestimate how talented this roster is, thus allowing them to transfer and replace them with USF and other G5 caliber players. It won’t work.

Yeah, hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard (most of the time anyway). But, when your opponents' talent works hard, you're going to need talent yourself to compete, not matter how hard you work.

Bottom line…not my coach. Don’t care.

Hope he goes 11-1 next year, but I only really care about the 1.
Physically, I agree that Sydney Sweeney is VERY attractive, but I don't think she's drink her bathwater, the most beautiful woman I've ever seen gorgeous.

However, the way she talks, moves, and acts strikes me as "girl next door, melt your heart" kind of gorgeous. A month or two ago, there was a video of her running targets at a gun range. Dadgumit that would make me fall in love!

There are easily hundreds of Sydney Sweeney's walking around Auburn's campus.

Aubiecat, you are massively underselling Auburn.
Looks no worse than usual, maybe easier. Jawja and Bama will be tough. LSU and UT probably tough. Unless the Fighting Diego is successful in suing for his 27th year of eligibility, Vandy may be back to something closer to your daddy's Vandy. Everything else looks pretty manageable. No doubt there will be surprises though.

The real question for Comrade Alex

Redmont

Will he endorse Sir Charles's vodka?
quote:

Basically said Lane doesn't care about anyone but Lane.

I hear what you're saying, but that may be a little harsh. There are other coaches who are just as selfish as Lane, they just haven't shown it as much. Granted, playoffs are different from bowl games, but Sumrall and Golesh are both walking out on their teams before the end of the year.

Saban is right; the calendar is broken, but very fixable...move signing day back to February, finish the playoffs by about January 15th, move spring ball to early summer, and one transfer window after the end of the academic year. That alone should fix it, but I wouldn't be opposed to a rule that any coach who resigns while his team still has games to play would be ineligible to coach anywhere the following season.
Positive. Like what he did at USF. Like what he's saying so far at Auburn. Like offensive coaches in general.

With all that said, there are NO sure things, not even Kiffin at LSU (though that one should work). Then again, I still think Brother Hugh should have worked at Auburn. Hopefully, Comrade Alex does (MUCH) better. I think he will.

Why do this to yourself? You can get to MUC via ATL-FRA on LH.

Why not use KLM, or AF, so at least you don't have to deal with luggage transfers at airports? Turkish would be great, if you were going to their part of Cyprus.

Oh, I agree, but it looks like I don't have any good options. We could do BA/AA, but that adds a connection and Philly (one more opportunity for a delay or lost baggage), and the flight into London arrives at Heathrow with the next flight departing from Gatwick (trying to avoid a cab ride mid-trip, and we still end up dealing with our bags).

Lufthansa goes ATL to FRA to MUC, but the flight into MUC gets in too late to connect to PFO (Paphos)...not listed as an option on their web site.
