Forrest Whittaker was awful. They should've cut him out.

I didn't think he was bad. And while his character wasn't great, it did add a plot element to the story.

The overall story was a little hard to believe. I wish it had been more realistic. The one thing that really chapped me was seeing R2 and 3PO watching the rebel fleet take off to attack. When we all know, they both should have been on Lea's ship leaving the battle. How'd they get there?

They invented that awesome hammerhead space tug, only to act like it wasn't effective enough to be used by the Alliance in any other movie?? WTF?
You are contradicting yourself. Do you want to be introduced to new ships or do you want the same "standard playbook" in every film?

At some point, you just start ticking off the death count, because you know none of these original characters made it to Star Wars
Again, contradicting yourself.

You're clearly not a big Star Wars fan and just wanted twoo hours of lightsaber and space battles.

The Darth Vader scene was worth the price of admission alone. I can't remember ever getting that hyped up after a one minute scene..

You're not allowed to criticize Star Wars on this board, unless its the prequels.

Considering it sounds like the OP wasn't even paying attention when he watched I'm not really sure you want to hitch your wagon to his uninformed gripes.

People keep saying it's a war film. It's really not a war film at all. It's a Star Wars film about regular guys/girls in the universe or at least it tries to be.

I would have much preferred a film focused on members of the Rebel Alliance military as opposed to what we got.

It's against the Jedi code to fall in love or have children. Jedi don't have family legacies.

Yeah dude, it just wasn't a good movie at all. Forrest Whitaker turned in one of the worst performances I've seen in years

Rogue One was a terrible movie.

It's a perfect example of how stupid we've become as a society.

I was entertained. But only just. Chris Stuckmann put out a video here recently on his YouTube page talking about how this film is not aging well with him. He dislikes the film more and more with every re-watch. I am the same way. The characters in this film are very two-dimensional and there is no discernible arc for any of them. When they started dying off, I didn't care. The only character I felt somewhat sorry for was K-2SO and he was a freaking droid.

I agree that the facial CGI was a bad idea because of how badly it will age. It will look pretty silly in a few years.

The Star Wars cultists would never admit it, but the original was kinda bad. Even allowing for the limitations of 1970s effects and techniques; the acting, dialogue and plot are fairly amateurish. It was on sometime in the last few months and I wanted to watch it because I hadn't seen it in 20 years or so. It was like seeing your high school flame and she's gained 50 pounds.

I honestly probably would have been happier if the movie opened with the Vader scene, and then just played the rest of ANH after that. Totally worth the price of admission.

Huge fan of the movies.

Hate that they killed off Han

Hate that the last 2 movies are retreads of IV, just for the purpose of having female heroines. Just write a damn new storyline for the girls

Comes off as lazy

I finally got to see it and the first half was boring. It did get better, but Vader at the end saved the movie for me. I did enjoy the 2 Asians though. Sorry, can't remember their names.
