Rented it and watched on Amazon prime. Very solid western. It was short but enjoyable.

Now I am looking around for more. Any recommendations on recent westerns that are worth watching?

Technically a neo-western because it’s set in present day - Hell or High Water

I second this... awesome movie.

And... is Bone Tomahawk a western or a horror movie set in the old west?

For recently made westerns, there are a few shows that were pretty good.

Godless starring Jeff Daniels
Hell on Wheels
Billy the Kid

A few Old School Classics:

"The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" Great all-star cast full of familiar faces of the western genre back in the early 60's.

"Shane" One of Alan Ladd's best----early Jack Palance role.

"Rio Bravo" John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson

"Hombre" came out in 67, same year as "Cool Hand Luke" and stars Paul Newman, Richard Boone, Fredrick Marsh and Diane Cilento in a very underrated western.

"The Shootist" John Wayne's last film before cancer took him out. Stars Wayne, Ron Howard, Scatman Cruthers, Harry Morgan, Jimmy Stewart and Lauren Bacall.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
2018 Cohen Brothers film.

“An anthology containing six short films all occurring in 19th-century post-Civil War America during the settling of the Old West.”

Just watched Butcher’s Crossing on Prime. Not worth the price to rent or buy right now but worth it when it drops in price to rent. Decent enough. Some awesome scenery.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

I watched Old Henry after seeing some clips of it on Tick Tock, and I thought the movie was pretty good. I like the twist on Bonney.
