Separate from even the Star Wars story, it’s just an absolutely terrible movie on its own.

I've often said that if TLJ hadn't been a Star Wars movie, no one would even be talking about it. Without the Star Wars tag, it is a barely watchable - and ultimately forgettable - science fiction movie.

Abrams will be essentially retconning a lot of the decisions Johnson made in Last Jedi.

As pissed as we all are about TLJ, imagine the anger Abrams had to feel when he realized all the story threads he handed over on a silver platter were completely ruined.

I’m willing to bet (save for maybe Mark Hamill) no one hates TLJ more than JJ Abrams. He left two outlines for the sequels of which almost nothing was used except for a few set pieces. I do not envy him.

Hamill's demeanor during the press tour speaks volumes. I know he has said positive things about the film since release but those comments are obviously nothing more than the company pushing that narrative.

Haven't seen it. Threads like this are why. I still have a good opinion of Stars Wars. Maybe I'll go watch Solo?

Or these guys were pushing that:

There’s no doubt in my mind that Hamill’s comments about the movie cost them tens of millions of dollars. I know it at least prevented my parents and sister from seeing it when I told them it was a pile of garbage, they just thought I was being a movie snob, and then I forwarded some of his comments. It’s really night and day comparing Ford’s reaction to TFA to Hamill’s in TLJ.

I finally saw Solo movie.
It was just as awful!
The character development of Solo and Lando could have been so much better and the GOT lady, what was the point of that? Even Woody Harrelson character was terrible.

Like Rogue One, let's make a terrible movie and bring in Vader and Maul at the end of both. Pitiful!

Not top shelf, but I thought Solo was enjoyable and I feel that he was a good Han, and enjoyed his interactions with Chewbacca. I enjoyed it more than everything but the last 15 minutes of Rogue One. Sure there were some ridiculous things (e.g. how he got his name) but overall I feel like it was better than the TLJ-induced box office results let on.

I haven't watched it since. The only money I spent on Star Wars since TLJ was to Redbox Solo. I've pretty much checked out of it at this point and not even interested in EP9.

I regret letting my son watch it even once. It’s anti-male, anti-bravery propaganda. Pure trash.

I'll watch Solo if it ever gets to Netflix.

Would take a miracle before I buy another SW movie ticket (or spend the equivalent amount on a rental).

I haven’t thought about The Last Jedi in several months. Thanks for pissing me off.

The ending to Solo completely ruined the character. He became the smuggler with a heart of gold over the course of A New Hope. He didn't start out that way.

Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie made since the OT without question. The hate it gets is beyond unsubstantiated. It was a fantastic addition to the franchise.

It’d be Jupiter Ascending or worse without the SW tag.

Agreed, even though I still enjoyed the movie. It made sense within the movie, but not within the "Han Shot First" paradigm established in A New Hope.

I thought it was good enough. At the same time he didn't just start off blasting everyone in his path, either. He was betrayed by his friend Beckett, and his love interest left him behind. Then he was on his way to get mixed up with Jabba the Hut which I'm sure will harden him even more. Seems like the course of events in the span of the film/story were enough to plant the seed for him to not trust anyone (as Beckett kept telling him) and to start turning into the hardened Han we meet in the Cantina. I don't think the intent of the film is to fully transform him to this Han by the end.
