“We’re moving away from toxic masculinity, and that’s happening because women are being open, demanding and vocal and calling out misbehaviour as soon as we see it,” said Lynch, who is of British and Jamaican descent.

I don't see the new Bond movies doing well with a female lead but don't let your toxic masculinity keep you from going to see the new 007.

I'm willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt if a movie is GOOD.

I just have a hard time believing it will actually be good, as it seems like half the script will be about how terrible you are as a person if you have a penis. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

It's like they have no idea why people consume their product.

"HEY GUYS! LETS MAKE THE LEAST-WATCHED BOND FILM!"

Well, there isn't a female lead, so that's not a very relevant response to this.

Here's what's going to happen. Bond is retired so she becomes the 007. Bond comes back out of retirement and works with the 007 at the end Bond retires again and the Craig movies end. Few years later we get a new set of Bond films probably staring someone like Taron Egerton or an unknown

All the Hollywood studios are tripping over themselves to ruin their franchises with this woke crap.

Also, why does diversity automatically mean black?

What about Hispanics? What about Asians?

They are unseen and unheard.

Out of respect for Sean Connery, they need to just kill the James Bond franchise.

As best I can tell that's exactly what they're doing.

I feel like every other Bond movie for the last 30 years has featured a female actor claiming “The women are different in this movie!”

I doubt this will have a real impact on the Bond series. Yeah, giving her the 007 designator for this movie will generate some press and outrage but it won't have any effect on the franchise. Future James Bond films aren't going to have a black female lead. I would hope they are smart enough to realize that would kill the franchise. I think the fan interest in seeing that is close to zero. If they wanted a girl power, black girl magic James Bond spy world they should have spun off a Jinx series.

I'm sorry but that's the character of James Bond. He was always meant to be charming, toxically masculine, ruthless, and cunning. I'm tired of this "woe is me" Bond that we've been getting since the beginning of Quantum of Solace.

Woke Charlies Angels.
Woke Terminator
Woke Disney Star Wars
Woke Ghostbusters
Woke Harley Quinn
Woke Captain Marvel
Woke Doctor Who
Woke Star Trek
Woke Batwoman (CW )

Anyone see a trend here ? How every time one of these revolutionary movies / shows comes out which features a strong WAHman that's overwriting established characters, things go terribly wrong.

They're trying to force this revolution over a completely debunked premise, that there are no strong women, and in order for fairness, they simply need to erase the 'toxic males ' from public memory.

Fact is, these new writers and actresses can't deal with real characters, aren't smart enough to create their own identities, and in a fit of frustration, are tearing down others to try and make themselves feel better.

* The problem with these 'revolutionary' movements is that they think they can just hijack an existing franchise and then push their agenda onto the audience and no one will say anything , for fear of being called an 'ist or a 'phobe.

That's not how this works.

If Bond was a woman, she’d be more attractive. I mean, I’d do Daniel Craig before her.

I tend to agree with you here. Casino Royale was really good because it was different style of Bond than we had seen. He was gritty and had an edge. Then they decided to keep that grittiness to the movies and take away his manhood a bit. The thing that made the old movies fun was the overt sexism, almost slapstick overt.

I’m not going to shite on this movie with a female 007 if it goes the way I think it will. I don’t even knock the franchise for going with a female 007 in general if she is good at it, the movie is good and she isn’t Bond. At that point I might check out from seeing the movies but at least they aren’t shoehorning bullshite like making Bond ,himself, a female.
