re: James Bond’ actress Lashana Lynch on criticism over ‘007’ casting: ‘I’m part of something

Just make a new character I don’t know 008. But to take a product people have been watching for 50 years and completely change it is stupid. I don’t get that business strategy.

The series needs to die or at least become a little more cerebral as found in a LeCarre spy novel. The bond action spectaculars are predictable and indistinguishable from mission impossible, Bourne, or the host of other action flicks.

It’s one thing to make a change to a franchise that is honestly getting dull and repetitive. Maybe this spices it up. And she gets to be lead of a huge franchise, that’s great. But to immediately insult your base audience by labeling their movies as toxic masculinity is disgusting

People will pee themselves in rage over James Bond becoming a woman... except this is just the designation 007 going to the replacement agent. Craig is getting long in the tooth and is ready to hang up his Walther PPK.

He will ride into the sunset and in a year or so they will cast a new James Bond, something they have some experience doing, and start all over again.

It’s funny to see women say stuff like this as growing up females forming groups and being bitches to other females was and is normal. They hold grudges against each other for a long time & work behind the scenes building alliances to tear other females down and ruin their reputations. That’s toxic.

They also always had their own version of locker room talk along with spreading legs for lust but also personal/material gain absent of lust (see Kamala and Willie). Many actresses have not just looked the other way but benefited from partnering with and being friends with perpetrators along with some participating themselves when new & younger unknown actors and actresses were taken advantage making comments like this coming from most in involved with Hollywood (even if mostly across the pond) very hypocritical.
