I grew up on the campy bond movies and still prefer them. The newer films don’t have that charm. They try too hard to be gritty and moody and pensive and lack what I really loved about the old movies. Even the gadgets are less interesting to me.

The gritty and moody thing worked in Casino Royale because it was fresh and because Bond was still a complete alpha bad arse.
A Bond with no confidence and bravado is absolutely pathetic and that's what they've done to him over the past few films.
The allure of James Bond has always been that he's the ultimate man. Intelligent, confident, strong, skilled, respected, etc. He gets to do exciting, adventurous things in exotic places. He bangs a gazillion hot bitches left and right, etc. He drinks, he smokes, he gambles, etc. He's what every man wants to be and the man every woman wants.
But we live in a world where actual masculinity has been deemed toxic, so it should be no surprise that James Bond isn't long for this world.

Except he doesn't or didn't own the franchise, so what he wants or wanted is irrelevant.
You need to take it up with Ian Fleming's estate.
My guess is, that as long as Bond is generating a vast amount of revenue for the estate, why in the world would anyone stop that?
