Honestly I don’t see Gen Xers or Boomers enjoying this movie nor Zoomers. It seems to be a movie centrally targeted at Millennials and only Millennials. It’s a fantastic film, but I can’t see anyone outside of my generation loving it. My generation should and does love this movie, but it’s humor is very specific to pop culture references at the time.

Regardless, Black Sheep should be seen as great song at large: Black Sheep

Good to hear you’re open to us being a bunch of spoiled entitled little shits. The fact that the movie is that open about makes it great.

who would've thought back then that 4 people in that movie would play super heroes and the one that had already been in superman would be the 3rd most famous at best

Born in '70 so an Xer. It was okay. I wouldn't say I loved it but I enjoyed it. I really only watched it because Aubrey Plaza was in it. She's the funniest person alive.

I'm Gen X and I loved it. It gets better with repeat viewings. At the time, I think this board was saying it was a movie for hipsters, not millennials.

I absolutely love this movie, but I also happen to be a millennial musician raised on tv and video games who was also almost the same age as the main characters, so it’s super relatable for me. I can completely understand why a lot of people don’t care for it, but for me, it’s nearly perfection.

Hadn’t Chris Evans already played Johnny Storm in Fantastic 4?

It’s a Gen X movie through and through. The video game references are all Gen X era.

Scott Pilgrim is Gen X, He's a fricking slacker. 8 bit graphics and sound ain't a fricking millennial thing. 80s/90s pop culture references - Gen X not fricking millennial.
Mega Man 1987 Gen X
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 1991 Gen X
Bob-ombs - Super Mario 2 1988 Gen X
Street Fighter 1987? Gen X
Mortal Combat Gen fricking X
Sonic 1991 Gen X
Even created by Gen Xers, if that was ever in doubt.
Bryan Lee O'Malley - Gen X
Edgar Wright - Gen X
fricking Beck - Gen X
You millennials need to get a grip on yourselves. Culturally you're a void.

All of that works w/older Millennials and the guy who wrote it is closer to being a Millennial than a GenXer b/c he was born in '79. Millennials typically are pegged to have started in '80 though some sociologists start them in '78.

Some of you GenXers need to get over your angst ridden lazy basement living self important selves.

Can’t stand Brie but she’s a smoke in this movie and kills it. Can’t believe that’s her singing. If they ever do a bio movie on Gwen she needs to play it.

What year were you born? You could be one of those early 80s babies that thinks they're Gen X but are actually an early Millennial.

Scott Pilgrim is Gen X,

The movie is 100% millenial just because it has a few late 80s references doesn't make it Gen X. All the characters in the movie are millenials for fricks sake
