It was fine for what it was, which is an Adam Sandler Netflix movie. I wasn’t exactly expecting Citizen Kane. I do think having the real golfers gave it a boost, and seeing Verne was awesome. Also, this might have the most cameos of any movie I’ve ever seen. I mean that’s an insane number of cameos.

The movie wasn't good. Pure cash grab. Should have stopped with the first one.

I enjoyed the hell out of it until the maxi golf tournament. That was cringe worthy. 75% of the movie is solid.

Far from solid. Mediocre, yes.

No matter what… Hollywood usually does sequels 20 or more years too late.

It helped that the 2nd half of this one was stronger than the first half. That said, it was kind of just a few decently funny bits carrying it while the story seemed to get a little more clear or something. I didn’t love.

I just finished it and I was thoroughly impressed. Sequels are usually terrible but this one was actually pretty good. I was taken aback at the events of the first couple minutes though, holy hell! I did not see that coming. It was cheesy of course, but so was the first one, and I was 11 years old all over again. And for that, I thank Adam Sandler. I laughed.

It was an enjoyable movie. Some people just choose to be miserable.

Shooter walking out of the mental hospital like he was the Joker walking out of Arkham Asylum

Happy to see Lavelle Crawford getting some work. He has been one of my favorite comedians for the last 15 years that I feel as if no one knows about.

ETA: also appreciated all the Waterboy nods/easter eggs.

Had low expectations but enjoyed it overalll. The whole maxi storyline was kind of meh but overall enjoyed to movie. Bad bunny was shockingly the best celeb character

Nice nostalgia with some other Sandler movie Easter eggs and familiar Sandler friends all being in the movie

Couldn't disagree more.

The firs hour was a decent homage to the first and felt like the original Happy Gilmore. The last 30 minutes it turned into an over the top mess that you had to have major suspension of belief to even view it as a sci-fi movie. Just completely retarded final act.

The Maxi golf stuff was some of the dumbest stuff I've ever seen in a movie. I was actually semi enjoying it for what it was and it just went completely went off the rails. I cannot express just how much I hated the final act of this movie.

So I watched it this weekend. I didn't think it was that bad. I guess it may have helped that I had read this thread first, so I was going in with very low expectations. It doesn't hold a candle to the first HG but hell, it was worth a couple of hours in the a/c on a hot Sunday afternoon.

How is it a cash grab if you don't have to pay anything to see it

Made it to that point and had to turn it off.

They were going for the last 3rd of the movie to suck balls? Got it

Do you not understand that this movie was basically shitting on LIV golf the entire time, and purposely made that event over the top stupid to make fun of LIV?

I'm pretty sure Sandler made plenty of money from this.

I think anyone who remotely watches golf realizes they were making fun of LIV. Also why Brooksie and Bryson got DQ'd and didn't actually play in that tournament.

But anyway, the movie was worse that I was expecting. Could have been decent, but was really just plain bad.

Everybody knows that, but it was still retarded. Just because you're making fun of LIV does not mean you have to go full retard.

They were literally surgically enhancing players and gave them like robotic AI looking swings. One guy literally was playing gold with a CHAINSAW for some reason. The final hole was an elevated spinning green. Every part of it was stupid and unfunny.

Even the random caddies Mexican friend that was randomly thrown in to be an idiot. They had him run out on the range and they were just blasting him with range balls like they were firing off automatic weapons. So dumb.
