I went in with very low expectations.

Wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Pure nostalgia bait

I got 90 minutes with some old friends. Worth it, imo

Same. All the real golfers taking part worked out very well.

Could have done without a few of the callbacks. It's like they felt they had to squeeze every single character from the original in somewhere and it wasn't all necessary.

Yeah the movie was good until they got into the maxi golf tournament. Those 5 actors and the whole golf scene was truly terrible.

That’s kind of the point they were going for.

This. As much as you could reasonably hope for.

The Scheffler jail stuff was funny.

Just got finished. This is the best review in this thread. And the ones going in expecting something any different than nostalgia and dumb jokes will never like this one.

I enjoyed it. Didn’t expect anything whatsoever and came out enjoying it way more than I thought. It was a good couple of hours.

Is there a movie that Jon Lovitz is in and doesn’t make you laugh out loud at least once?

god, that guy would probably make me laugh if he was in Schindlers List. His one line was the hardest I laughed.

Finished it. It’s absolutely terrible and I predicted almost exactly what the plot would be after the first teaser trailer was shown last year. This may be the worst Adam Sandler movie to date. Jack & Jill may be slightly worse still

I’m honestly curious as to what you were expecting

Some of those actually helped me out a bit as I forgot who some of the guys were in the original. Like the government auditor

The movie was not as bad as people are making it out to be. Was it the best? No. But it was an easy watch.

Most people are just running with the common narrative and what feels "popular" to say

I laughed at some dumb jokes. That’s all I can ask for now a days. They went heavy with the nostalgia and the golfer jokes may have went over your head if you don’t follow golf at all, but it was an enjoyable and dumb movie.

My favorite movie character is Ben Stiller in his villain comedy character. Happy Gilmore, Heavy Weights, Dodgeball. That persona and voice he does cracks me up.

Shout out to the threesome happy played with early in the movie...i thought they were pretty good. Maybe not just absolutely hilarious but i found them amusing. The dancing after the 180 yard drives..

The long legged white girl is the actress who played in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - the one who hitched a ride with Brad Pitt’s character out to the ranch.

I didn’t recognize her at first, but during her little dancing scene, I was like, wait, I’ve seen those legs do those moves before!

42. Referencing 90s humor and current humor of Scottie dealing with cops was hilarious.

This. I had laughs and enjoyed callbacks to my youth. Imperfect for sure with modern day sensitivities.

Agreed, all of the callbacks and rehashes of jokes pretty much fell flat and sucked. The real golfers parts were all pretty funny. Overall I thought it was pretty dumb because it was mostly rehash jokes.

Let's all just be happy we grew up in our prime when Happy Gilmore 1 came out. College kids these days probably think this is the greatest movie ever.

The flasks everywhere are closer to living with a closeted alcoholic than those that haven’t realize.

It was perfectly fine for a straight to streaming sequel. Perfect for a movie night.

One thing I really appreciated was Shooter getting over his hatred of Happy because golf was loosing the sanctity of the game.
