Offsetting close to 40 years of no good star wars shows being released? This is where i disagree.
Sometimes it's better to not release new movies if you don't have a clear vision for them. It's well-documented that Lucas was more of an ideas man and the more-involved he was with the writing and directing, the worse they were. The Disney trilogy was so bad that most Star Wars fans have already retconned them out. They had an endless amount of source material in the forms of books to adopt. So their conclusion was to make something nobody wanted to watch just for the sake of being original.
Disney destroyed any potential the franchise had.

I never watched the last movie, doesn't change anything about mandalorian and andor and rogue one being more good star wara content hours than the OT

Yep - spot on
I remember reading (who knows if this is true) that the 7, 8, 9 stories with Lucas? was going to include Luke’s severed hand from ESB being used to make a clone. I thought how dumb that storyline was…little did we know it was going to be much worse.

Outside of weird Rey-Lo freaks, the sequel trilogy has not impacted pop culture one damn bit. No merch sales, hardly any cosplay and a series of failed TV shows all add up to utter trash.
Keep your Andor, the entire franchise is effectively dead.

If I hadn't thr bank account of Elon or Bezos..
I'd buy the franchise, and...everything that happened up until Luke and his sister were conceived, id recton with Luke appearing as a force ghost to Obi-Wan in the past learning a secret to everlasting life through time and space..perfecting a concept darth plagueis had only scratched the surface on..he persuades Obi-Wan with facts about things only he could know, thus ultimately gaining an emergency audience with and warning the jedi council of palpatine..etc
Luke would get to speak to Anakin as he was before corrupted by the dark side, and see his mother.
Anakin would never turn to the dark side. He would remain a healthy man, fathering his children and leading the jedi, rewriting how things work and bringing balance to thir side of the force He was meant to balance the jedi, not the entire force. Luke saves his father again.
Palpatine would go into exile rebuilding the sith as Maul would become a force with Crimson Dawn, etc. There would be a larger criminal underworld presence..

One thing the sequels did was completely rehabilitate Ole Jorge and his God awful prequels and Special Editions. People have forgotten how vilified Lucus was with the hard core base for a while.

Nowadays nobody gives a shite about Star Wars
Spoken like someone that hasnt seen Andor yet
But there's nothing to build from that. It fills in some blanks before the OT, in a tone far different than the sequel trilogy (or any of the other movies).
And the sequels are awful, on so many levels. They introduced factions that didn't make sense, they insulted the memories of 2 of the most beloved characters (Luke and Han) and killed them both off. They wanted to try to build around Leia, but Carrie Fisher died before her story (I'm guessing there was some rough idea to build on Yoda's "no, there is another" comment). They invalidated Anakin/Vader's entire arc. They teased male heroes (and let's remember, Star Wars is a "boys tale"), only to emasculate them.
They successfully deconstructed one of the most popular franchises in history, to the point where it's irrelevant now.

it's a good show. but it's only incredible as compared to the rest of the shlock to come out in the last ten years. it's not incredible in the pantheon of all time tv show greats.
