ya it seemed a bit of a cop out / poor writing that he steals a sword, stumbled on to a few pieces of information, heals jorah and then peaces out - but they are under a time constraint at this point and need to get shite done. A lot of these issues this season are largely a function of the prior seasons going slow or something they did in the prior seasons that has an effect now that they need to tie everything up in like 8 more episodes or whatever it is.
The bold definitely annoys me. It's unbelievable enough that Randyll Tarly did nothing about it, but now that him and Dickon are dead, it's Sam's sword anyways.

I'd say the bold names are strong favorites.

Those are my picks as well, actually.

I don't see Tormund dying. He's the only one of the free folk we know about. I think Beric, Thoros, and all the red shirts with them will die.

Has anybody said Gendry looks like Christian Bale yet? Cause he looks like Christian Bale.
He looks like one of those weird photoshop mashups of Christian Bale and Ewan McGregor

Sam going to the best library in Westeros and finding useful information he's actively looking for on related events that have happened before doesn't seem like much of a stretch. Gilly happening to read that Jon's parents were married is quite the coincidence though.

Because Beric's sword isn't the real Lightbringer. He puts wildfire on a normal sword and lights it. That sword is ruined afterwards.
Obviously I'm wrong, but I thought the book established that Thoros's flaming sword he used in the melees were fake with wildfire, but that no one could explain Beric's. His shite was real. It was some chapter about tBwoB describing him to someone else, Arya or Sandor maybe.

I expected some people on here to be apoplectic about that.

quote:Well, that's what happened. Get over it.
the question proposed in this thread by various people has been that it seems odd nobody has heard about it until now.
The overthinking is really wearing me down. Between that and the spoiler jerkoffs, the threads are becoming tedious.
I've skipped over several pages, and ignore posts by certain people. Did anyone get banned? Were any posts deleted?

I'll lay down a gold dragon on Thoros and Jorah dieing with a little less on Sandor not coming back either.

We worked the Longclaw/ Dark Sister theory over in the Crackpot thread way back...but it is the ONLY VS bastard sword mentioned in the books...other than, of course, Blackfyre.
Speaking of Crackpot Theories, I stumbled acroos this one recently:
quote:
Azor Ahai, the prince that was promised, is Rhaegar Targaryn. That's kind of lame, since he even thought he himself was The One, but then after a while, he began to think his son was the prince that was promised. Remember that Rhaegar was born at Summerhall on the same day as when it burned down, meaning he was born amidst salt and smoke. Well, if Rhaegar is Azor Ahai, then that could mean Jon Snow is Lightbringer. Think about it. The original Azor Ahai finally tempered the sword that defeated the darkness by driving it into the heart of his lover Nissa Nissa, killing her. Rhaegar put Jon Snow (Lightbringer) into Lyanna, and when he was born, it killed her. Nissa Nissa died with a cry of anguish and ecstasy, much like Lyanna might have when birthing her only son, but knowing she would perish shortly thereafter. Now, Jon is the guy who has already been fighting the Others, and he is now in cahoots with Dany to hopefully bring her dragons (dragon fire = light) to fight the wights. Summerhall is a very mysterious topic in the books and this is probably because it holds a great secret that's too revealing to the overall story. So, to me, that's just more fuel in the fire for this theory. What are your thoughts? Maybe this has been put forward before but I had never heard it. *Edit: Some extra points to consider Jon is already described as a sword - "I am the SWORD in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the FIRE that burns against the cold, the LIGHT that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. " "The dragon has 3 heads" - Jon is Rhaegar's third child. This further aligns with the ancient Azor Ahai story where he tempered the sword perfectly on the third try when killing Nissa Nissa. Ergo, Rhaegar's third kid killed the love of his life as well. Born amongst salt and smoke - Summerhall burned down (fire). Summerhall was a great tragedy where many people died. The kingdom lost the current king at the time, a prince, the captain of the Kingsguard (King Aegon V, prince Duncan, Duncan the Tall). These deaths would certainly lead to many tears. Several have been adamant that Lightbringer has to be a sword, which I get it, it's what you'd think since the story is about a sword. But isn't that too simple and cookie cutter for GRRM? If Rhaegar is the PtwP, then Jon being Lightbringer has to be the twist that satisfies, yet keeps the mystery from being guessed a mile away.
TL;dr - Prince Raeghar was The Prince That Was Promised and Jon is Lightbringer.

I'll probably just continue to discuss the series and the points people bring up in the same manner and you can just gloss over when people broach something they find to be odd about the show or the back and forth spoiler bitching - its the best way to handle the spoiler witch hunts IMO.

Why save Jorah from greyscale only to kill him? Since it's seen as a likely suicide mission it might have been easier to write greyscale Jorah into that, or at least not much different. It just feels like they saved him for more than just making Sam a rebellious maester.

quote:Definitely Jorah. He got to see his queen one last time. Tyrion gave him the coin. He even looked back at Dany one last time when they were shoving the boat back out to sea. That's the death nail right there.
Jon
Gendry
Jorah
Tormund
Hound
Thoros

Now that its sorta been confirmed that Rhaegar and Lyanna got married, I wonder if Robert actually knew she wasn't kidnapped and raped. Is it possible he was jealous enough he'd capitalize on the Mad King burning Ned's father and brother to get revenge and start a war?

Thoros is dying.
And probably beric would be my guess
