It will never be ready in time

I guess they know what they are doing better than I do, but it seems like a waste of money. They are playing this like GOT ended well and is still an in demand property.

frick now I’m depressed about how shitty GOT ended again

The world he created is amazing. Keep in mind every GoT season was amazing until there was no material to follow.
The World of Ice and Fire is great, A Knight of the 7 Kingdoms is great, these are completed books with finished stories.

GoT is an interesting case. Hollywood destroyed a story before it was actually finished. I'm not even mad. It's impressive. I enjoyed the show but have no interest in spin offs. I was burnt out on it before the main show ended.

He clearly has no intention of finishing the books
Or maybe he’ll have the books released after he dies because he doesn’t want to hear the criticism of them after decades of pent up frustration.

All the sleezy lying sacks sure to show up in this thread will undoubtedly give whatever is pushed out a watch. GoT was gold until they started winging it.

I read it’s actually a 10 year deal with 5 void years so they can spread out the cap hit

This sums up my reaction about as well possible also. The ending was just such a letdown that I really am not tempted by any spinoffs, prequels or sequels of any sort.

No one is more pissed at GRRM than his publisher and editor. You know they've got to be spitting bullets behind the scenes.

Wow. Seems I triggered some GoT fanboys here.

They had his notes. The ending we received was the ending he intended.
How do I know - he resigned with HBO and didn’t cry about it

How is he going to have time for all these projects and finish the books? He’s 72 and fat. Does he smoke?

So in 5 years at the end of his deal, he'll produce maybe half a show.
