D & D needed more than notes. A lot more.

D&D should get blamed but GRRM is also to blame.

Not really. There’s really nothing wrong with the ending.

What made the fans reject it was that it was just slapped on the show with shitty development to arrive at those conclusions.

“Who has a better story than Bran the Broken?”

Every single viewer: Everyone, including Edmure Tully.

At least the ending of Game of Thrones sucking actually brought the country together for once.

You are literally proving my point.

Again: your issue isn’t Bran ending up where he did, but the lack of development to that conclusion.

I actually do have an issue with that, and GRRM better have a better excuse than blowing himself as a storyteller and important human being. There are some things in the end that do seem like something GRRM would do, and that line of reasoning for Bran taking the throne is one of them.

Yep. Would have been better if we as viewers knew that Bran was actually evil and corrupted and used his powers to scheme and set things in motion for him to have the throne handed to him. The problem wasn't the destination it was the journey.

That would be a fine explanation, but no I suspect the ending is how important fantasy writers are. He’s taking inspiration from Lord of the Rings again with the Red Book of the Westmarch, but instead of Frodo sailing to the West he’s making his equivalent of Frodo the King.

Or maybe he’ll have the books released after he dies because he doesn’t want to hear the criticism of them after decades of pent up frustration.

This is my theory as well

He needs to sub out the writing and just be there for a heavy review.

There's a novel idea. Only problem is, once the show gets any level of traction, he'll be lured away by the limelight and get distracted.

He's a junkie for the fame.

Then, for the very last scene in the series, you have his eyes flicker bright blue. Key the credits.

George R R Martin aka George Raymond Richard Martin born 1948 is truly a corpulent lazy sloth pig that wallows in wealth and degeneracy and sin. all his fans ever asked of him was to write as he has done - nothing more, nothing less - yet he chose to make stuffing is fat mouth and licking the various orifices of the pedowood elite and 'arp' like a fat seal for fish from the limousine leftists that seem to now run everything.

'GRRM is more interested in the darker corners of the human soul' - many disagree with that statement, because it appears that GRRM doesn't believe we have souls. One of the presiding messages coming out of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' is the discernible lack of hope.

Question. What do you give a writer who cannot finish a story to save his life.

HBO raises hand. “I know this ! “

Glad this is what HBO is wasting funding on, can we please get back to original stuff or atleast add on to the Wire or something.

So what is the point? HBO has some fantastic content and has for quite some time. Are you that sore about one show that you cancel an entire network?

i get all content that i want by "means" - so i cant watch anything for free unless its super obscure, and then there are private trackers for that stuff - takes a bit of work. anything remotely mainstream i can watch at-will.

you know what, hbo's "content"/junk is so bad these days i dont bother with any of it even though i could watch it for free.

so yeah, nothing is fantastic there and its not worth any amount of money to watch hbo. its a burned out husk and it nothing compared to its "old days"

hbo's content =

I guess we have different taste.

Succession
Chernobyl
Gemstones
Undoing

Were all recent shows we enjoyed. The wife has a few others she likes and I’m sure I’m forgetting some. The addition of same day cinema movies on Max has been nice. So it’s worth it to me...but $10 isn’t going to break me either. So there’s that.
