They spent 7 seasons setting it up.

No. It was a long running ancillary plot.

It's called Game of Thrones. It's mainly a political drama revolving around human drama.

The White Walkers, prior to this season, appeared in 12 episodes. So no, they weren't the end game of GOT.

The NK wasn't going to make himself vulnerable to his biggest threats, Arya was never on the radar so the sneak attack made sense. This is what she spent all that time training for.

She went back home because she couldn't let go of her past and who she is. It made perfect sense to see her ultimately be the one to end the biggest threat to Winterfell and her family.

That was without a doubt some of the best, if not the best, film put on television. It was absolutely riveting all the way through. However, in the end it feels anticlimactic in a lot of ways. We never get any real background on the night king; his intellect, his motivations, his story.

I agree. The transitions were off as well from the start as they followed the characters and it felt clunky at times.

Love the episode but they could have finished with a bang when Dany saves Jon and the dead swarm her by letting her die. The same in the crypt with Sansa and Tyrion could have been good deaths at that moment.

Oh well and will look forward to a great finish

would’ve been fine with Arya killing the NK if it had been well written and had been earned.

I would have loved her wearing Bran's face. And as the NK reached out for Bran she rips his face off and kill the NK.

Except that would never have worked. Night King was drawn to Bran's consciousness, not his visible appearance. He would have smelled a rat instantly if it was Arya.

Both siblings did their part. Bran cranked up the 3 Eyed Raven transmitter to get his attention, and to distract him from Arya. Might even have masked her.

Arya climbed the tree early. There was fast movement in the shadows before the dead came in heavy, and it was not coming into Theon and Bran. That was Arya, picking her tree.

Exactly. Why not? In fact they should remain the series “Arya Kills Everyone I Hate...Except For Joffrey, and She Just Didn’t Make It in Time to Kill Ramsay”

Only issue I have is that the Night King wouldn’t go out like that. He would be much more aware and wouldn’t let his guard down like that.
Arya probably used the face of a white walker...you know...blue eyes

The very first scene both in the book and show centered around the WW.

We literally get a “Not today” throwback to her Season 1 training. SEASON ONE.

But no setup. Not at all. None.
