Glad you had a great time! Banff is one of my favorite places on Earth, I've been counting down the days until I get back. Will have to check out the Grizzly House, heard good things but have never tried it.

Heading to Banff in a little over two weeks, some decent snow up there and I hope they can get a bit more...I can't wait to get back on the slopes again.

Crested Butte, Big Sky, Whistler.

Whistler by a mile if those are what you are looking at. Big Sky I love but they aren't getting a lot of snow and that is a mountain that needs a good base, same deal for Crested Butte. Both are awesome mountains to visit in March.

Banff and Revelstoke have solid snow right now, same for Mammoth which Cuse brought up. Those could be other options worth looking into.

Depends on when in March, Steamboat is lower elevation and Jackson gets baked by the sun. I'm not sure I would pick either in late March.

Seems like it was too warm for the snow that is going through to do a whole lot sadly, looked like Alta got a few inches.

My family and I are flying to Banff on the 22nd of November for a week. We have never been skiing in Canada before. My son is 17 and snowboards (intermediate),daughter is 15 (no pics intermediate) and wife and I (intermediate). Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Probably the best snowpack in North America right now is at Banff, still terrian is limited obviously.

I've never skied there this early but I have been there four or five times. I kind of prefer Louise but at this time of year both are going to be similar. Bluebird is one of my favorite places to eat in town. The shuttle and transit system is great if you are staying in town.

Whistler and Interior BC is where the snow is right now. Looking like that will continue for the next few weeks at least.

I've done a lot of solo ski trips, only non-ski trip was to the Big Island. Which I really enjoyed since there were a lot of things you can explore there and it was nice to do whatever I wanted since I could golf one day, do some hikes another and just chill on the beach as well.

Nothing says the start of ski season like A-Basin firing up their snowmaking....

Banff is 4500, Whistler is 2200. Agree with Cuse in regards to Bend for US options. Sun Valley is also just below 6k.

Going to be a big year for me, full Ikon again with a few EPIC days on the side.

Probably doing 4 or 5 trips starting with Colorado the week before Christmas, Steamboat in late January, SLC/Jackson last week of February and Aspen in Mid-March. Won't be staying in Aspen, likely slumming it in Glenwood Springs but got a super cheap flight into ASE so wanted to make something work since I haven't skied there in a while.

I can't stand jimmy Kimmel, but we can't do what they did to conservatives, whether or not that cocksucker airs at night really has no effect on me, we are walking a fine line here.

If he was worth a damn ABC would have tried to keep him, the guy hasn't been funny since the man show and his liberal buddies didn't like that kind of schtick so he dropped it. Jimmy cancelled himself a while ago, ABC just now had a shot to drop the hammer and save some money.

Of course, I've flown basic on Delta and United and checked my skis before. I think you are also exempt for the carryon restriction as well.

If your flying a smaller regional jet picking a seat matters a lot less, you are either getting a window or an aisle seat regardless. That is really the only situation where I book basic.

In a further attempt to save cash, they could also spend a day skiing at Granby Ranch instead of the whole time at Winter Park. Granby has some beginner terrain and is reasonable price-wise. Not somewhere I would want to spend several days skiing, but would work for a day.

Thought about saying that as well, I stayed up by Granby a few years ago. Didn't ski Granby since I had an Ikon pass but it would be a decent place to shake off some rust on your first day of the trip and then spend the rest of the trip at WP.

For Christmas not sure anywhere is really safe. Banff should have snow but it could be super cold. The Cottonwoods would be a much safer bet then the Wasatch Back or go somewhere that is high elevation and makes a ton of snow like Copper or Snowmass. More mellow mountains like Vail or Steamboat could also be ok since they don't need a massive base to open up most of their terrian.

Another suggestion is Winter Park, CO. 75 minutes from DIA and can stay in Frasier just a few minutes down the road for even cheaper lodging. Free bus system around town as well

I think WP is a great option, won't get quite the ski town vibe of a place like Steamboat but that is how you save some cash. I've also saved some money when staying at Keystone but WP is the better resort. Only advantage of Keystone would being able to mix in a day at Breck if you wanted to.

Depends on the resort but if they are Epic or Ikon the time to buy is now.

Banff is an option, flights are a bit more expensive but once you are there the exchange rate is going to make things very reasonable. Sunshine Village is a great spot for intermediates, amazing scenery and Banff offers everything you'll find at other ski towns.

Bachelor is another solid option that Cuse brought up, Schweitzer in Idaho may be another worth looking into as well but the town is more limited.

Try to do direct, unless for rental cars then it's costco or expedia.
