Still, after last night, when it was literally spoonfed to an absurd degree...
I saw not 1, not 2, but 3 Facebook posts asking:
"Can someone explain to me how Dany and Jon are related?"
Jesus.

Jaime is the KINGSLAYER.
The leader of the dead is the Night's KING.
Foreshadowing?
Maybe Jaime dies heroically - even killing the NK in the process (even though I think it has to be Jon) - but a question about the Volanqar prophecy and the faceless men...
Do the faceless men have to be the one to murder a person if they are to use their face? For example, if Jaime dies heroically, can Arya take his face to fulfill the prophecy by killing Cersei? Or does she physically have to kill Jaime if she is to take his face?

They can take other people's faces they themselves haven't killed. Remember there were 2 no ones with Jaqen Haghar's face.

Bran: I can see everything.
Sam: Rhaegar annulled his first wife to marry Lyanna.
Bran: ......Well most things.
That's not what Bran said. He said he can 'see things in the past and things happening now all over the world.' But, he has to actually go look at them. He hasn't already seen everything. He hadn't seen Rhaegar's second marriage until Sam gave him a reason to go look for it.
It's odd, though, that he didn't get Jon's real name when he visited the Tower of Joy the first time. I guess his time travel eavesdropping skills hadn't sufficiently developed?

I still think it will be Jaime to kill Cersei, making him the worst kind of murderer of all - kinslayer, kingslayer, & queenslayer - but it could work with Arya fulilling it as well.

I'm guessing D&D were pulling out their hair after the Season 6 finale that a large portion of the viewers still had no idea what the Tower of Joy meant, so they really downed it to the lowest common denominator.
Yup

Anyone else think it was weird that Sam wasnt paying attention and could give two shits when Gilly was finding out about Jons parents' wedding, and then when Bran mentioned it he spouts up and starts rattling off the details. WTF??

You have to realize their intended audience is the population of HBO viewers.
Martin's intended audience is the population of book readers.
Very different. Plus he can easily give us the thoughts of the POV characters. A great advantage.

yeah well the writers have obviously given up any sort of logic by this season so i don't think we can use anything as a definitive rule anymore
For fricks sake, stop watching the damn show then

How involved is Martin in the writing of the current season? Has he been looking it over? Did he just give D&D the keys?
I don't think he's actively involved in the show at all the last couple of seasons. I think he's said he stepped back to concentrate on the next book. Fat lot of good that has done so far.

How come we got 15 minutes of fricking Greyworm sex but only 9 seconds of epic Targaryen boatsex?
I am at disappoint.

So the death toll this season sucked:
Olenna
A couple Sand Snakes
LF
Thoros
Can you even count the Tarleys?

Of course the dragon named after Dany's a-hole brother is the one destroying the wall
Danny doomed that dragon when she named him after her jerkoff brother.
Maybe Drogon can dump some molten Valyrian steel on Viserion's head to take him out.

As did the titty count.
I mean, Missandei's were out of this world, but it hardly made up for the lack of nakedness throughout. I was flaccid for most of this season.

NK could be raising them in force just to show Jon what he's facing. that does not imply the dead ONLY are raised with force
Have we seen the dead rise any other way than by force?

It may have been that the previous 3ER was blocking that. He was taking Bran to that point so he may have had the ability to choose what Bran did/n't see or hear.
Since it seems Bran's perception is to be present as if he were really there he may have needed to focus more or get closer to hear the whisper.

And it still wasn't enough.
Spotted this in an article earlier:
Talking about Winterfell:
quote:
Seemingly unguarded, the fortress has no dragon glass and very little in the way of warriors - which instantly puts it in danger.
Tucked up inside are Sansa (Sophie Turner), Arya (Maisie Williams) and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), seemingly unaware of the danger that looms.
We go straight from a shot of Bran sitting in the Gods Wood with his eyes all white, to a shot of some ravens flying over the wall just in time to witness it's destruction.
I swear, they couldn't spoon feed us any more obviously and people still don't get it.

The first one Jon killed in Castle Black. He died beyond the wall but was brought through the wall before he turned.
