You knew how the series was going to end or you knew what the final scene was going to be? That final scene may be the greatest TV series final scene ever.

I'd heard about the final scene and caught the show here and there when it originally aired, but hadn't ever actually seen the ending.

If anyone hasn't seen this show in awhile, all of the episodes are posted on youtube. The first two seasons are good. But man, it really hits it's stride when Peter Scolari and Julia Duffy join the cast. Just a great cast/show.

Most shows go on for far too long and then the last episode has that money grab stink to it.

Probably not a popular opinion, but this is how I felt about MASH.

I thought the finale was pretty weak given how good the show was for the first several seasons.

As for "Newhart", I had a good friend who was a big fan of the show but had no idea what was happening in the finale, because she had never seen "The Bob Newhart Show". She was like, "who's this strange woman with the whisky-and-cigarettes voice he's in bed with?"

I was just a 16 year old kid when Cheers went off the air

I was a few weeks shy of 16. I've watched it many times. It still hits me hard in the feels.

Cheers, Frasier, The Cosby Show, The Fresh Prince....all endings that still get me!

The Wonder Years —-was one of the worst finales
Dad died, Winnie moves to France, Kevin introduces his child from a different wife to Winnie. All told by narration.

Along with Newhart, the best series finale of all time.

Never even heard of that show, and yeah, that's a crazy send off. I'm guessing it was just 1 season?

I really enjoyed the Sons of Anarchy finale, tied it all up really well. The Lost finale was probably the most invested finale I've ever watched during the original airing. Between technical difficulties that created tension and, as someone else mentioned, being conflicted about how it ended was just so much awesome.

I have still never seen the final episode of Cheers. That is/was my favorite show and I still can't let it end. I don't know if I'll ever watch it.

+1 on Parks and Rec

Black Sails is probably my all time favorite send off. Especially the very last scene.
The Leftovers
The Newsroom
I liked The Wire ending more than most
Vice Principles
Broadchurch
The Killing

Still racking my brain, I know im missing some of my favorites.

A lot of the ones named so far are my votes. I'll throw in Fringe as well.

Just thinking about it a little more.

The Knick. One of the shows that it is just criminal it didnt get more seasons. The ending is either the writers are just cruel to end it like that or they thought they were getting another season. Either way, it was brilliant.

Not sure if True Detective can be split up but the end of Season 1 was pretty solid. The send off wasnt the best episode, but it was still really good.

Walton Goggins truly elevated Shane's character in the last few seasons.

Claudette reading out loud Shane's suicide note to Vic in the interrogation room is one of my favorite scenes from the entire show.

Dexter x's 2, both instances were terrible.
GoT = terrible
Seinfeld = Eh, really?

Can't really think of others.

I think the 3-part ending of Barney Miller was my favorite.

Gotta agree with The Shield being a decent ending. The main character gets away with it in the end but loses everything then realizes he’s basically not free and now paying for all his sins.

It wasn't the best or the worst last episode. It wrapped up a lot of character arcs, but it also left it right where it started... Sam running the bar, and you kinda know the gang will be back the next day like always, but you won't be a part of it.
