I mean I agree to an extent. He leaves Cersei much earlier in the book and refuses to aid her when the faith arrests her and starts to become a better person, which he has done in the show too, just much slower.

Christopher moltisanti from the sopranos.
Probably one of the most underrated tv characters of all time.
Went from small time gangster to made man, then he has second thoughts about his lifestyle and wants to write screenplays. His final act is tragic as drug addiction sends him on a downward spiral and he’s ultimately killed by his own family.

Ah! The old edgy “character arc” for want to be film critics.

So many Wire characters to choose from. Carver going from a screw up to the moral center of the cop universe. Bode going from perhaps the most unlikable character on the show the the soulful dealer who refuses to sell out and stay independent and loyal to Barksdale's people.
But it's gotta be Bubbles. That there is Shakespearean.

Vic Mackey from "The Shield." I loved and hated his character at times. The final episode was great. Turns out he was a terrible human being.

Gul Dukat in DS9... a true Villain in Trek and not just a bad guy or the week.

Celie Johnson going from the shy, scared girl to a strong, independent woman in The Color Purple. The worm turned for Miss Celle.

Walt was a train wreck waiting to happen, regardless.
