Maybe he’s going to be at KL’s because that’s what Bran’s vision of the dragon flying over KL was. That’s also the only way I can see the dead losing at Winterfell.
i think eventually thats what will happen.
at winterfell though, what does the NK really need to be there for? there's nothing he can do there except put himself and his dragon in harms way
what WOULD be cool though is if he swooped in on viserion to draw dany and/or jon's dragons away from the fight. you know that jon at least would want to follow him.

quote:It's a common sense figure; it was stated somewhere that she had about that many Dothraki in the horde now following her, after she burned the Kals. She had an enormous fleet transporting them to Dragonstone. Yes, most of the fleet got wiped out by Euron (taking Yara, outside of Casterly Rock), but the Dothraki weren't involved either time.
there's not 100,000 dothraki at winterfell. i'm not sure where that number is coming from
She'd held them out of battle on Tyrion's advice prior to hitting the Lannister forces coming back from the sack of Highgarden. Even accounting for heavy casualties in that (which didn't seem to be the case), that was the only conflict they've been in, so their forces shouldn't have dropped.
And now, they're riding to fight the army of the Dead. Dany has seen this army firsthand, they killed one of her dragons. It makes no sense at all to hold someone in reserve for the battle against Cersei, when you're trying to prevent the fricking apocalypse. Any remaining force after a loss at Winterfell could not stop the dead, plus Dany stands a 50/50 chance of dying if they lose that battle (Drogon gives her a solid chance of escape, even at the last minute).
Short version- given the stakes of the battle of Winterfell, you gotta go all-in.

so who was in on-board in the "most of the fleet"?

This show is terrible they didn't kill off every single notable character during the battle. There are some people who will be pissed if the Hot Pie isn't the only person in the kingdoms left alive after episode 3.

Couldn't you say the same thing about King's Landing though? If he doesn't need to be present at the battle at Winterfell, why would he need to be there at KL? I'm thinking he needs to be with his army to lead them in battle, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been way off when guessing about this show/books

Has the potential effectiveness of iron been discussed at all?
We know steel doesn't do a damn thing. But what about iron?
Old nan once said "In that darkness, the Others came for the first time ... They were cold things, dead things, that hated iron"
This also plays into the crypts where it was mentioned numerous times that "statues of the dead lords of the castle have iron swords resting on the laps..."
Iron islands, Iron throne, Iron.
I think the conclusion will reveal obvious foreshadowing throughout the series. What if the answer was something this in your face?

It's too slow. It's too fast. I'm done after this season.

What a terrible episode.
The writing is so bad.
I hated that dialogue.
I haven't liked this show in 5 seasons I only watch it for the lulz.
I think I covered a lot here.

The Dornish army
you sure?

i'm almost sure they were on the way to dorne to pick up the army, not on the way back

Dany picked up 100,000 Dothraki at Vaes Dothrak, but that doesn’t mean all 100k are warriors. She probably left a chunk behind that weren’t warriors in Meereen, some are still holding Dragonstone, and they lost some raiding the caravan.
Depending on how the night king and crew plan to attack, I know a great strategy they could use to defeat them as well, provided Dany and Aegon can occupy the night king and viseryion long enough.

It just doesn’t make sense that she has a 100K at Winterfell. Nothing has suggested that. Again if she did then their whole formation on that battle map would’ve been way different. 100K Dothraki would’ve been enough to cover the entire front line and sides a couple levels deep instead of just the very tip as shown by the map. The map is likely not to scale but it would make no sense to distort it to that extreme.
And it does matter if she has a 100K or not because it would give the living a massive advantage if they did. The writers seem to be going for putting the living at a dire situation.

what could the army at KL do about an undead dragon?
they could shoot spears at viserion all day and it wouldnt matter
the NK could take KL by himself in a couple of hours.

SOMEBODY was on them...
i just assumed they were dothraki or unsullied, and we've seen massive formations of the latter, and only bits and pieces of the former

fast forward is your friend, i found it very helpful watching season 1 to season 7, before new season started.
a lot of useless drivel that you can ff thru.
And this past weeks episode was horrible, it was like they just shoved shite in, to fill the time space.
