If you don’t think it lived up to the hype, fine. But yall can get right the frick out with thinking that cheesy 80s movie holds a candle to either film

You, my young friend, can frick right off. Empire Strikes Back is so far above Dune II that any comparison is invalid from the start. My serious advice is to keep this hot take to yourself in the real world, you'd never live it down and no one would ever take your opinions seriously again.

If you think fury road was better than Dune 2 you’re flat out stupid.

Think he’s talking about the 80’s Dune film, not Empire.

Thought it was a great film with a lot of flaws

The post he was responding to was about ESB.

I think the overwhelmingly positive reaction to Dune 2 is partly because of the recent failures of Marvel and Star Wars
With that said, Dune 2 is still pretty good

Was talking about the original Dune. Guess I should have responded to whoever said it and not the OP
I’m not a Star Wars fan but I know better than that

Criticism withdrawn! Though I will stan for the first half of Lynch's Dune, which I think is shite on unnecessarily. And Sting will always be my Feyd.

Dune 1 was better. First 2/3rd’s of Dune 2 were slow.

Who let the retard in here?
All kidding aside, both are great films that aren’t really all that similar.

Terrible film. Visually impressive until they start riding worms. Ridiculous in its conception and in delivery. The laws Of physics and every character’s motivations (except Anton Sigur) are inconsistent and often contradictory. This guy who played Elvis once appears to be playing Elvis in every role he’s in, including the bickered and dune 2, except he was doing an impression of skellen skarsgard in this one. Piece of shite. Terrible movie. The only sympathetic character is zyndaya. Christopher walken made it unwatchable. Kept waiting for him to introduce the fooFIGHTAHS.

the Lynch version is better in just about every way
Dear God! Are you serious? Let me guess. You were 8 when you saw Dune in 84 and haven’t watched it since?

Saw it in IMAX, was blown away by the cinematography. We were on the second row so not the best place to sit, looking up the whole time. Anyway, I wish they could make this into a theatre mini-series. As much as I liked it, they could have "fleshed out" as some of you call it so much in the middle of the movie and it would have made sense to everyone. To truly do justice to the book it would take 5 or so movies imho. But what do I know. I'm going to see it again in a few days.

I saw someone in another thread calling it on par with Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back
The guy that said this is Christopher Nolan. I'd imagine he knows a thing or two about making a movie.

I loved the movie but I felt that the Baptisa character turned into a puss in this one. Killed like a little bitch in a few seconds man

I have seen Lynch's Dune many times over the years. It's visually more interesting than Villeneuve's version. I don't know how anyone can say the new Baron is better than the old Baron.
