saw it a few days ago. Really liked it though I thought the ending was a bit rushed

yeah I thought the ending was rushed and they could have done a better job developing the bad guy/girl also the elf girl that was with them.

So is this somewhat of a rehash of Alien Nation, buddy/cop sci-fi, but with fantasy elements?

For reference: IMDB LINK

I thought that the movie was well set up and had a good plot but the end was very much a let down. It definitely felt rushed and somewhat predictable.

I seriously doubt many people here would be singing this flicks praises if it went to theaters and they spent $15 on it.

Nobody is in here screaming for Oscar nominations you miserable twat. We are all aware its a Netflix film, and it's good for what it is.

Go hate your life somewhere else.

Take out the "so" part and it's pretty accurate. Was a decent watch, nothing game changing. Wish they would have explained the world a little more. I think Joel Edgerton is criminally underrated as an actor. This was definitely better than Ayers last outing(looking at you suicide squad ) but not his best. Wouldn't watch this one again but would watch a sequel. It's not a complete waste of time.

I enjoyed it. Good story.

So do humans run the country or do elves?

It was a really good movie. The critics are full of shite studio cucks.

Just finished it. Great concept. Hope the sequel goes into more detail on the backstory and make up of what all creatures live in this world. I saw the dragon flying in the background.

Agree the ending was rushed. I liked the bad chick elf and her assassin helpers. Somewhat predictable ending though. Love Joel Edgerton as well.

We watched it last night. I agree with what most of you said. Good movie, bad writing at times. And bad makeup at times also.

I really liked the world they built though. Pretty neat concept.

I liked it, and I don't really care for this genre at all.

I liked it. I wish the would have given more time to explanations about which does what and why.

A sequel could be nice.

My wife absolutely hates these kind of movies. She is a romcom girl mainly. So I put it on late night while she worked on her laptop. I thought it wouldn't distract her, but she ended up mostly watching it with me and we both really liked it. She liked the humor which is what pulled her in.

I enjoyed it overall, and had no clue what it was about going into it. I liked the fantasy concept, as I hadn't seen that done before. The ending kind of missed IMO. It just wasn't very climatic. I enjoyed the buildup though.

They set up nicely for it with the Dark One lore from the past that was barely mentioned.

Why the orcs originally followed him, why the lingering hate has persisted between groups. Why the elves are the elite etc. If they do one I hope they don't go the obvious fantasy genre "human bright chosen one" concept. The chosen one angle has been played to death in fantasy novels.

I didn't think I would like it ... but my Son was home from college and wanted to watch it, so I watched it with him.

... and I really liked it.
