The timeline is confusing because 0BBY isn’t a year, it’s just the events of A New Hope.
Take it up with them
Here is the full 1BBY

He says Andor never happens without her.
I think some of that conversation was left out.
Kennedy: that sounds great Tony, but you are going to need to have a gay moment or two somewhere in there
Tony: I guess I could make two of the girls gay for each other that are part of the team on the secret mission to the armory.
Kennedy: I guess that'll do. Thanks.
LGBTQ community complain that's not enough after S1
Kennedy: I need you to up the gay ante.
Tony: ok
Kennedy: lets have our first gay kiss in Star Wars
Tony: fine. whatever. Are you going to let me use Darth Vader again.
Kennedy: We don't need Vader taking away from the gayness. I'll let you use Krennic.
Tony: I can make that work. Thanks. I couldn't have done this without you.
Still a great show and I loved it, but I sure as shite am not going to praise Kathleen Kennedy for it. It was an awesome show despite her.

The lesbian action was still forced and not needed. It was legit checking off a box for the gay mafia.

I'm curious, but what Wikipedia page is that screen capture taken from?

It is spelled Wookieepedia

What does this even mean? Was the father/daughter relationship with Luthen and Kleya 'needed' or was that 'forced' as well? Bix and Andor? Was that forced?
Every relationship between characters provides depth to the story and to those characters.

we are going to miss Kleya with her tight pants and boots

Oh Mickey.
You keep being you, and fight that fight.

It means exactly what it says. The lesbian crap wasn't needed, added nothing to the story and did nothing except check off a box to satisfy people living an aberrant lifestyle. Same with shoehorning any gays into any story these days. Forced acceptance. Nothing more.

Bix/Andor relationship wasn't needed either.

Absolutely wrong. Showed her pain. Her struggle. Her grief. It gave a character without much depth something personal.
ETA: Just to lighten to mood

quote:No, it does not mean it’s one year before.
The last 3 episodes start at BBY 1. That's 1 year before the Death Star is destroyed
If Battle of Yavin starts New Year’s Day ABY 1, then the last day of BBY 1 is New Year’s Eve. There is no year zero.
These episodes could be “January” or they could be “December”. It’s not specified, but given given that Andor is planning to go to Kafrene, I’m guessing it’s pretty close to the end of year.
ETA: should have read further before commenting, seems like this has been thoroughly addressed by others and I’m just piling on

Andor ends S2 going to Kafrene. In Andor's first scene in R1, he's arriving at Kafrene. The only ambiguous time is between Kafene and getting Jyn out of the work camp.
In addition to our bickering about timelines, I'm glad we are bickering about shitty nerd things like exact dates and not big picture decision making like in Episodes 7-9 and other shows.

Just finished watching. In my mind the best Star Wars content ever done. Hell, some of the best TV period. Just infuriates me that Disney has gems like this, but primarily chooses to put out garbage.

Love K2. He’s C-3PO, R2, Chewy and an AT-AT walker all in one.
Posted on 5/14/25 at 3:06 pm to Mickey Goldmill
K2 is an awesome character, but if we're being fair, KX droids are OP as frick. The physics of them don't make sense to me. They must be super expensive to make, otherwise you'd think the Empire would use them everywhere.
