my bad.
I found it funny reading about the outcome considering so many tapped out in under two weeks, and for stupid reasons as well.
there's idiots that tapped on day 2 b/c of "missed family"

This is going to be interesting for the 1st 12 days be/c my biggest problem being on Alone outside of any of the Northern Canada locations is going to be the bugs. My early bet is that the 6 that tapped in the 1st 12 days put the insects as a leading reason why.

it gives there reasons on the wiki page.

Still riding with Alan and Wyatt like I have been. Really hope Wyatts arm doesn't get him medically removed. It's been a while since he hurt it and it's still swollen and oozing puss. Not good. But him and Alan are clearly the two best fisherman/hunters this year and seem to be in a good place mentally.
Working on the last episode. But I knew this shite was coming. They keep showing it on the recaps about his arm. I knew it was going to get infected.

It looks like they’re going to air Australia’s version of Alone. Maybe it’s a move to fill a time slot that’s open because of the writers’ strike?
If this is a result of the writers strike, I hope the strike continues for a little while. Just keep airing all the English language Alone spin offs one after the other.

Same here. Trust me, I feel for anyone with a child dealing with that diagnosis but if he goes on and on about his son back home with family and friends like he has on the show, I'd think his circle of friends is awfully small and getting smaller.

i was glad to see Wyatt get that splinter out of his arm. He seems like he's good to go now. Amazing how the body continued to try to tell him there was still a foreign object in his body and tried to expel it. Good thing he kept messing with it and trying to drain the pus, which eventually led to it coming to the top where he could get it out.
Wyatt seems to be in the best head space, and i think he's had the most food without a doubt. He looks excited about the coming winter.
Melanie had no chance. The woman didn't eat anything but twigs and berries out there. She was never going to make it without protein, but kudos for lasting that long without it. i think she just had a crappy fishing spot.
I don't see Mikey making it, but he seems to have more motivation to win the money than the other two, so can't discount that. But he doesn't seem to be doing much at all in terms of catching food, at least the editing of the show would make you assume that. I do enjoy the trinkets he's making. That's really all you can do in the afternoon once it gets dark.
I think ALan is doing alright, but i could see him tapping even though he seems to be getting a decent amount of fish. I do like that he has a plan to eat now and then fast to make it to 60 days. Unfortunately i think he needs to go past 60 to win it, and that alone time fasting is going to get to him.
Wyatt and Alan have been the two best contestants this season hands down, as well as Taz.

I think Alan has the best head space. Between the arm and the mushrooms, something is going to do Wyatt in.
Alan is just out there living life.

In the last episode it took Mikey no more than 10 seconds on camera to start going on and on about his autistic kid. How he's missing his kids birthday and how much he's missing him----per the usual for him this season.
That is either going to spur him on to do his best to win or do him in and see him tap.
Down to 3 guys now. Like most who've posted in this thread, I'm a bit disappointed in how this season was produced and aired.

Watched the newest episode last night.
Very first Mikey segment is him talking about his kid
Wtf is wrong with the history channel. Who do they think is wanting to here this non stop? I'm to the point where I don't even blame it on Mikey. Dude is Alone and talks about his kid, I might do the same if I had one, but they don't have to show it so damn much.
Melanie, good job. That's about as long as someone can last on just berries and you lasted longer than I though you would.
Yea definitely happy that didn't take him out. Something similar happened to my mom, she was trimming her shrubs and thought she just cut her leg kind of bad when she jabbed it into a branch. It drove her crazy and was hurting her for probably a month with puss coming out. She wouldn't go to the doctor and kept saying she thinks there's a branch in there. We almost kind of laughed it off until it started poking out and she was able to pull it out. Was probably twice as thick as the one Wyatt had. Mom was kind of a badass.
As far as how I see it playing out:
Mikey talking about his kid is super annoying but I honestly just don't think he's that good of a survivalist. Mikey is good at getting fat and holding out based on weight alone. He's not a great hunter or fisherman. He's pretty creative with building cool things to occupy his mind and probably a good carpenter, but he didn't even build a great shelter and its definitely the worst of the final three. Once the weather gets brutal that shelter is going to be a detriment. No food built up is obviously an issue. I don't know if he'll be the next to tap because he's still got fat on him but I don't think he wins.
Wyatt and Alan are in a very similar position imo. Both are still killing grouse and catching fish and have food stored up. Not sure which one has more but they definitely have the advantage of Mikey in that area. I think they both are in a good head space. Alan talked about his kids and wife one time and quickly dismissed it and even said last week "nope, have to get that out of my head." So he's trying to not even think of home. Wyatt definitely doesn't seem to be longing for home.
As lame as this season has been overall, Wyatt and Alan are actually two of my favorite characters that have been on the show. Both are just very likable to me.

It would be kind of interesting if during a season they allowed the contestants to communicate with each other
This is the dumbest thing ever. It completely undermines the whole point of the show.
This is a bad idea and you should feel bad.

There's been far too much personal lamenting this season and not enough action.
Posted on 8/8/23 at 2:13 pm to Damone
Seems to be the general consensus for this season. Seems to be people have dropped out much earlier overall this season and the weather hasn't been that bad relative to other seasons. I think they are only on day 45ish?
Posted on 8/8/23 at 5:01 pm to iwyLSUiwy
Last episode started at day 41 and they didn't seem to get too far. Two episodes left so either the winner doesn't make it too long or we will see some time lapses. I think Mikey is stubborn (not in a bad way) to make it and Wyatt is crazy enough. Alan is the darkhorse IMO, but all capable. It's weird they haven't shown Mikey hunting much at all, not sure WTF he's eating.

Season has been a dud. Not a lot of action.
As others has stated Mikey talking about his son has grow tiring as it’s the only thing he talks about. His others kids probably feel left out.
Really not sure who is going to win it. Wyatt got a monster pike in the last episode and seems that should be enough to push him through until the end. However, he may have a shelter on fire again.

So in an hour and a half episode somebody caught a fish and that dude whined about his kid(s) again.
Saved me 90 minutes…

Just turned on the finale. First two words of the episode…
“LOOK NIKOLAI!”
My god Mikey and this damn kid.

Doesn’t Mikey have four other kids? They must be at home like, “what the hell dad?”
