No shite. His other kids must feel like someone else's red headed step kids.

Once again when they aired his portion, it wasn't 5 seconds before he was going on and on about his autistic kid. This guy is like a broken record and boring as hell to watch.

I caught the beginning of the Aussie version and that gal who decided to be dropped off without taking a sleeping bag as one of her equipment options has to be a total idiot.

She may not need it now, but if she lasts long enough to see cold weather play a factor, she'll tap in a heartbeat.

I thought this last episode was the finale but I guess they’re doing 11 episodes. Wyatt definitely looking in the best shape right now. Hope he wins.

Just started the Australia one. This Beck chick has been there an hour and is scared to death. She’s about to be gone ASAP.

This Australian terrain is brutal. Yeesh.

Few random notes from the Australia episode.

The guy with the dreads when looking at his family photo said “this is my partner, she’s a really strong black woman.” Rewound it and listen to it a few times. That’s cool and all but she is 100% a white woman So odd. I mean their daughter is white with blonde hair.

The one guy they didn’t show much gets there and he says “I’d like to thank my lord Jesus for this land.” But they bleeped out Jesus. Is that a thing now on TV? Don’t think I’ve ever seen that.

Interesting they gave them motion sensored trail cameras. I guess because they can’t shoot a bow they gave them that to help with snaring/trapping. That’s different.

I watched the first few minutes of when they cut to Mikey in the last episode, and he mentioned his son, his wife, and the "other kids." It's really F'ed up. I would imagine I'd be ticked off if I found out just how little my dad regarded me and my siblings on a reality TV show.

But yea, just skipped every scene with him for the rest of the episode. I already was annoyed with him when he got lost on day one, and all of his scenes are a waste of time. I hope he taps out next.

The woman...

I think she had the best built home and that fire pit w/wind wall was outstanding. Hate she left but she was cracking mentally a while back (and she didn't have enought protein).

Wyatt looks like he gets his camp on fire (again) and if it's bad enough I don't know how he can repair it fast enough in that cold.

Mikey is tremendously stubborn and that is fantastic for him.

The other guy, I can't remember his name right now, I don't think he has enough on his body to make it much longer.

Hate that I'm saying it but I think Mikey takes this one home although I think Wyatt is probably the best overall.

Wyatt was my favorite. Would’ve liked Mikey better if not for all his whining.

Alan was the dark horse. I think he must’ve caught a ton of fish. Would’ve interesting to see his stockpile.

Overall, season was a disappointment for me.

Season was pretty boring. I’m glad dude won though. He seems like a good dude and was mentally tough.

Did not see Wyatt tapping out.
I hate the editing of this show, and i hate that they don't show you everythign they've caught and eaten.

Good for Alan though. Can't say he didn't deserve the win.

Something i've been enjoying lately, and evidently i'm late to the party on, is Clay Hayes has a youtube channel where he redoes a bunch of the stuff he did on Alone and explains a lot of stuff. Wish they all would do something like that. I thought it was great just to see why he chose the 10 items he chose. Hell they could do an entire episode after the show ends where they get them all together and talk about stuff like that. Could have 2-3 episodes worth where they all talk about their 10 items, their shelter, and just the experience, and do it after the edited show airs so they can say things that weren't in the show.

The final was kind of weird the way they focused on Wyatt with lots of him talking about his past, his addiction to alcohol and overcoming that, missing his family, etc.

The show hardly focused on Alan who wound up being the eventual winner until the very end when they did the medical check and snuck in his wife.

As for Mikey, they could have pulled him a few weeks ago and saved the viewers from listening to him go on and on about his autistic kid just about every time he was on camera. He was the least likable of the remaining 3 in my book.

sucks for Mikey. He's probably one of the least liked contestants that's made it that far. and he's probably a pretty cool dude to talk to and it would probably be awesome to talk to him about his experience.

the history channel is so interested in trying to create drama and create more to the show and have this suspense, when it's core audience really just wants to watch the survival aspect of the show. That's the entertainment.
My favorite part of this episode was hearing Alan talk about the owl and fishing in the silence every evening, as well as seeing Wyatt enjoy the sunrise before tapping. I don't mind hearing about how being out there changed them. I know it does. I feel different every single time i come back from being out in the woods in CO hunting in the backcountry. The only people i see for a week are my two buddies i go with and i enjoy the hell out of some silence.

Is this going to morph into Alone Australia because they are dropping like flies. 3 gone by day 2

They got dropped off in a real shitty place. That looks like a swamp combined with an Oregon or Washington type forest.

I could hear dead fall hitting the ground all around a couple of the contestants, and that can be some dangerous crap coming out of nowhere to hurt you.

The dreadlock guy tapped quick and I knew he would when he was looking at that family picture and started crying ON DAY 2 no less.

The 22 yr. old said he tested positive for Covid, if so, I really can't blame him. I had one bout with it and it can be wicked when in the comfort of your home much less out in the bush alone in the elements.

Beck couldn't get a fire going and called it a day on day 2 also. I figured it was just a matter of time for her since she was the only one who didn't think it smart to bring a sleeping bag. DUH

crap

I just sat through 11 episodes of a guy crying about his autistic kid so I’ll watch for now. It reminds me of early seasons of “our” Alone but some of the contestants have zero survival background and don’t belong.

However, there are 3 contestants who interest me. One is a former military guide and survival instructor. Without looking at the spoilers, he has to be the overwhelming favorite.

The second one is Gina, a “rewilding instructor” who seems to be a good contestant.

The third is a guy who is a hunting guide. He reminds me of Mikey minus the autistic kid. On day 2 or 3 he is already complaining about the lack of wildlife and how tough it will be to survive there. Meanwhile, he’s camped next to a large body of water that is apparently teeming with fish and eels. He’s hating every minute out there and I love it.

I'm happy for Alan. Was probably rooting for Wyatt the most but definitely liked Alan and he was one of the better contestants she show has ever had imo, despite it being a weak season overall. Dude was incredibly mentally tough. Great survivalist but he had a pretty impressive ability to block out wanting to be back home with his family. Which was probably tough to do because it seemed like him and his wife were a pretty good couple. He was more happy about seeing her than he was winning.

Wyatt surprisingly went downhill mentally pretty quick. He still had a food store. He was just kind of like "eh, I'm tired, time to go home." Not being able to catch anything in the gil net ice fishing probably frustrated him too.

Joined an Alone FB group because I wanted to post and see what most peoples opinions on Mikey were. My post got denied because it wasn't positive enough. There was a go fun me set up for him and his kid, 43K raised so far.

I think of all the places they have been, Australia looks the hardest. That place is brutal. It's like living in a swamp. No good fishing or hunting and the terrain is super thick/hard to walk in and find a good shelter. Hard pass on that. I can't see anybody staying over 50 days. The chick that tapped looked terrified the moment she got there. She was like "I think this is where I'd set up my shelter" and tree limbs were just falling all around her

100% on all of this. I'm glad Alan won. Mikey was pretty annoying. I wonder if the damage to Wyatt's shelter was too much.

It seems like every reality show under the sun does a reunion. This would be the perfect show for one. It seems like it would be pretty easy and cheap, so I just don't understand why they don't.

The terrain looks tough AF. Even trying to build shelter under the trees, the fricking branches are constantly randomly dropping like widow makers. The lady who went out there without a sleeping bag

you'd have to get him to stop talking about his autistic son first.

I feel like they did one season. it wasn't all 10 of them but it was most. They sat around and interviewed them. I want to say it was the season where Callie(?) got frostbite on her toes.

Man, this Aussie version of "Alone" sucks so far. Only 3 days in and already 4 people tapped out with the latest being the Hunting Guide who gave the reason he'd looked for 3 days and never saw any sign of game and at one point fell and hurt his knee.

And here I was thinking these Aussies were some nut tough outdoorsmen only to watch them drop like flies.

One gal caught the first fish, an eel that she boiled and complained it was real oily and actually gagged several time when eating it. Then a little later, one of the guys did catch a small fish to get him some protein.

Other than that, pretty lackluster show so far.
