dude, you are being extremely nitpicky with this

a woman who is 9 months pregnant had trouble carrying some bags up the stairs. that doesn't mean she should have gone into investigation mode to find the reason why. i would say it's pretty common for woman about to give birth to have trouble doing these things.

Then, later in the movie she was so nevervous she forgot about it.
you mean when her water broke and she was about to give birth? or after she stepped on it and shattered a picture frame while having contractions?

I’m not being nitpicky :). I recognize it as a real world mistake on her part and don’t judge the movie for it. Still drove me crazy but that doesn’t mean I’m “hating” it.

Just got out. What a great movie, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. My only complaint is why the heck is anyone having a baby in those type conditions? Seems stupid

I liked the movie, but I think I liked the experience more than the movie. Every single person in the theater was terrified to move or make any noise. People were trying to get their popcorn/drinks as quietly as possible.

Some of the foreshadowing was pretty heavy handed. Like they could've just had the bag get stuck on the nail, but then they had to go back for that extremely obvious shot of the nail just sticking up by itself.

Liked it overall. Not sure how bad Krasinski's wound was. Either way when he told the kids to get to the truck I thought he could have went with them and got back to the house.

Not sure why the little kid at the beginning was walking in the very back.

Only took them 36 days to shoot the movie. Guess that's not too surprising.

I saw it today. Wasn’t scary. Wasn’t a horror movie. It was Signs with better production. I liked it but I was expecting to love it.

Just got out. Good movie with some issues, but a fun experience. Good acting from all 4 characters

As if the military/scientists/academics wouldn’t have figured out the weakness though. And as if you would have a baby in that environment

Whose to say they haven’t. They’re in remote rural mountain country. It would take military a very long time to completely cover the entire United States.

There’s a couple of ways to look at the baby. It can be seen as an “accident” that they have to deal with. Or, and what i believe, is that the mother and father saw a new child as their duty. This is hard to explain, but they lost a child due to the disaster. It is the human spirit to survive. They were able to say they will make amends for the mistake for their lost son and begin to rebuild the world.

I don’t think she really pointed out the nail at all. She definitely didn’t help the daughter or point it out to her.

She definitely pointed it out to them, she looked them both in the eye and then looked down pointing at the nail. The boy carefully stepped to the side and the girl was following him to that side when the camera cut away.

A great movie, and a good metaphor for fatherhood. You're going to do a ton of work, prepare your children for the challenges that lay ahead of them, and they are still going to be mad at you for being emotionally distant. They will literally require you to sacrifice everything before they feel that you love them enough.

Saw this the other night and loved it. When will John Krasinski become an A-list actor? He was great in 13 Hours and phenomenal in this. Something about him brings an endearing quality to the character that you want to root for.

When he and his wife become Marvel's "First Couple" (Reed Richards and Susan Storm) in the MCU.

Wasn't that what they were all beating themselves up over? Mom was crying because she could have been carrying him. Their mistake in not being more careful was the main struggle in their lives.

Saw it last night. Very intense. Had some great scenes and the story line was pretty good. I was not extremely crazy about the ending, like others here, and I believe there were a lot of unexplained things

Overall a very good movie to see at the movies but I left feeling like it could have been so much more.

I thought it was good, and I enjoyed it, but not nearly as great as some are making it out to be. You're telling me that during all that time, none of the family members had to sneeze? None of them caught a cold or had to cough? None of them snored, farted, etc? Heck I can barely go an hour without making some sort of noise, let alone years. The death of the father kinda reminded me of the ending to The Mist... right after he dies, the solution is revealed.

I saw it yesterday...great theatrical experience. It has flaws but very enjoyable and ORIGINAL. It's nice to see new ideas emerge from modern Hollywood.

Two main points:

1. Very intense
2. Great acting
3. Weak ending
