Even last night, the lead MC covering the game is some chick with a British accent. Why? There are no American announcers or broadcasters they could use?

Whoa now that's Rebecca Lowe and she's fantastic at her job. I assume you hate the Olympics too then, because she's one of the main hosts for NBC along with Mike Tirico.

Don't hate her. She's good at her job. But why does soccer coverage have to feel like I'm watching Sky News?

You want American soccer fans, Americanize the sport.

I highly doubt Telemundo has announcers with Brit accents.

Everything about soccer culture in the US is just so inauthentic

No cap. I’ll be watching and cheering for the Greatest Country in the World The United States of America dragging their nuts all over these poverty nations, but the average US soccer fan seems to suffer from low T. What’s stopping us from having an SEC atmosphere instead of having some soys singing cringe songs like Great Value europoors?

Good description of them. A significant portion of hardcore soccer fans here seem to be wannabe Europeans

I mean the Latino fans seem crazy but lot less cringy

American names are kind of terrible. A city name with a bird after it? Yeah, so cool. Atlanta United is a much better name than Hawks or Falcons.

It makes little sense to not try to Americanize the sport if you’re trying to spread it. Everything these American soccer teams and their fans do is just copying Europeans. Why not try to mimic the already widespread and obsessive sports culture in the US instead of making it clearly a foreign thing?

The people who already like the MLS will continue to watch it regardless and there’s a chance you could slowly attract new fans by making it feel more relatable

There are soccer teams in America also. Alot of them. I doubt Portugal citizens primary allegiance lies with that team.

Remember NFL Europe in the 90s? What were the team names? They were a city and a nickname like American teams. They “copied” American teams.

so why not try to get into it

Bc hockey and the CWS are also on and both more exciting. And most people don't have time to watch sports every single night. I tried to watch it last night but I couldn't get into it

That’s exactly my point. They should’ve mimicked the soccer teams over there not Americanized it since it was taking place in Europe not America

If you’re trying to spread something for marketing purposes it makes more sense to copy the region’s established culture not bring over traditions that are completely foreign

In a shocking turn of events it was tied and neither team came close to scoring in the last 45 minutes.

The same people that say soccer is boring because it's low scoring will turn around and say a pitcher's duel that ends 1-0 in 13 innings is amazing

It's 35-7 Germany for anyone keeping count.
