and i guess i fail to see how that makes it any less true that the NBA absolutely has a mechanism for incorrect foul calls to be overturned

Bro it’s the frickin World Cup
I watched the USA hockey against Canada and enjoyed it even though I don’t watch hockey. I’ve tried watching the World Cup in the past and it just sucks. Soccer is boring. And gay.

its not even that. its just so forced. why do we do everything we can to mirror this to europeans? why are our domestic teams using gay "fc" and "inter" and "sporting" to their names instead of just being normal american sport teams with city names and team names attached to them? why do call things matches and pitches instead of games and fields? why do i flip the channel over to the game last night only to be immediately presented with an ad that essentially rolls its eyes at how stupid we are for calling the sport soccer?
its just so forced
its just so forced

I will say that last nights game US vs. Paraguay was a fun game to watch. It seemed like there was way more attacking than games I've seen in the past. I am correct on that or is it my imagination?
You are correct. For the US in a world cup game, we've never seen an all out, dominant performance like that. In the past we would play more cautious, and try to hit back on the counter attack, but now we have the players that can take on opponents 1v1 and win as well as control the game. Especially versus inferior teams.
Basically, this was the best advertisement for US soccer ever.

Why wasn’t this reversed? Why did the flopper get free points? What an outstanding system.

Could SA not have challenged that play?
Posted on 6/13/26 at 11:41 am to WestCoastAg
Shouldn’t have to. Fix your shitty sport
Posted on 6/13/26 at 11:46 am to SulphursFinest
So they could have then? Interesting

4 US TDs to Paraguay’s 1 tonight
Now imagine if they would've finished the game tied 7-7 like in canada

I do find it interesting that this was essentially a 28-7 game and people are losing their minds and acting like its the greatest game the US team has ever played
28 to 7.
28 to 7.

Brother we have been historically bad at soccer. All things considered, that was one of the best looking wins in a World Cup we have ever had.
All that to say if we run into someone like France, you will see how big of a talent gap there really is.

American names are kind of terrible. A city name with a bird after it? Yeah, so cool. Atlanta United is a much better name than Hawks or Falcons.

The worst are the freaks who use "boots" and "pitch" and other British lingo to try to fit in

It’s just an uninteresting watch as a style of sport to Americans. It seems like a ton of actionless jogging on a big arse field. American football has action on top of action no matter how bad the game is. Basketball is constant scoring and much faster on a condensed play surface. Baseball seems slow but every pitch is an action item compare to all the time a soccer game spends no wear near the goal. And most Americans play baseball at some point growing up so have a connection to it. Hockey can be low scoring as hell but is very fast and has all the action with hitting. Soccer just will never be americas passion with all the options.

So forced, from calling the uniform a "kit", field is "pitch", then how soccer fans mimic Euro fans with the singing and chanting, holding scarves up. It's just phony, acting like it's all Euro.
Even last night, the lead MC covering the game is some chick with a British accent. Why? There are no American announcers or broadcasters they could use?

The only thing more floppy than soccer players are the snowflake baws who complain about the flopping. Flopping over flopping. Sad.

Everything about soccer culture in the US is just so inauthentic and the people who force it on us act like we are ignorant for going...nah we good
