Everyone is stupid for taking embiid. Easily take the guy with the jump shot. Jesus

Injuries aside, I'm taking Embiid because I believe he has the higher ceiling. That isn't a knock on KAT either, because he has extremely high potential himself.

Injuries aside? Embiid and it's not even close.

Giannis can play the 4 but he’s more of a 3. I don’t consider him a big.

Based on his position he’d be the most valuable of the group. Wings just have more value than bigs.

Ranking them currently based on talent:

Davis
Giannis
Healthy Embiid
KAT
Porzingis

KAT is a garbage defender. I could see another of the other 4 being the best player in the nba 3-4 year from now.

Why do Pels fans always insert AD into these topics?

KAT has not lived up to the defensive potential that we think he has. He has been terrible defensively. Also, the +/- for the 6ers when Joel is on the court, versus when he is off is ridiculous. His presence requires so much gravity that he affects the game in a way Towns doesn't.

Bc the Gms said they would take towns to start a team with over Davis the last two years. And embiid> towns. And they don’t want Davis to be left out.

Knowing that elite wings win titles

Giannis > AD

He’s almost 2 years younger too

KAT is a great player, but his DPRM is embarrassing. He's one of the worst defenders among centers. Injuries aside, I take Joel Embiid and I don't think it's, particularly, close.

Injuries aside, who would you rather as your statting center today?

It's Embiid and it's not close. One actually plays defense.

Now, if you are considering injuries, it's a hard question to answer.

Some stats (per 36 minutes)

Karl-Anthony Towns (22 years old)
20.4 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 blocks, 52.5% shooting,

Joel Embiid (23 years old)
27.8 points, 13.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.2 blocks, 48.7% shooting

Mystery Player (23 years old)
19.6 points, 15.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.6 blocks, 67.7% shooting

Embiid must become more efficient. Shooting 48.7% is terrible for a big. I added the mystery player because I think it's someone who never gets mentioned with these two, but he seems to be in the same stratosphere.

It's mind boggling to me how bad KAT is at defense. He has become an absolute liability on that end of the floor. I mean look at this play: Twitter... Example 2

It's like he must hate Thibs or something because you've got to be tanking in order to be that bad.

In related news, I wonder if we look back on this thread in a couple of years and learn that KAT is actually the injury prone one once Thibs runs him into the ground.

So, Clint Capela "seems to be in the same stratosphere" as Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid?

Clint is a product of James and Chris, 2 of the best 3 playmakers in the league. He has improved offensively a lot. But still doesn’t take any shots more than 4 foot from the rim. Not in the stratosphere of the other two.

I wonder how much of this has to do with shot selection. He's averaging 0.5 3PA per game less than last season, but he's shooting 27% this year compared to last year's 37%. The thing with Embiid is post-ups are a big part of his game, but those shots are some of the least efficient in basketball. That hurts KAT too because Thibs loves post-ups. KAT is probably the better rounded offensive scorer without looking at the numbers, but where KAT is a liability on defense, Embiid is one of best at his position defensively.
