Why does winning a preseason game matter exactly?

Apparently for momentum. Didn't you know thats why Baltimore has won the North, the AFC, and the Super Bowl the last 3 years--because of their dominance in the preseason?

This is easily one of the oddest rants I've seen on the MSB. It's on par with some of the nonsense posted on tRant and the OT.

You do realize that coaches and players don’t actually think this way?

People are actually arguing about a preseason NFL game?

And no one is melting about DA choosing to go for 2 instead of just kicking the XP and forcing OT.

Y’all really shouldn’t bet on preseason games

I get betting preseason is degen behavior but is it really different from betting regular season? The margins in the NFL are so small it's a complete shot in the dark unless you gamble for a living.

i really would like to know how much he lost on the game. It's pretty obvious it was a good chunk of change for him.

He was playing to win, which most people could respect, not playing to lose like Andy Reid. Gambling or not, Chiefs calling that play wasn’t right call.

It's a pre-season game that means absolutely squat to anyone with half a brain. And if you're betting pre-season games, you deserve what you get.

That game was nowhere near the monumental screw-up that Seattle did when they let Wilson attempt a pass on second down at the goal line that got intercepted by New England's Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl with 25 seconds left in the game---allowing N.E. to come away with the improbable win.

Now that was truly tragic for Seattle's fans, but so fun to watch the reaction of Richard Sherman when he realized it was over and that bonehead play cost them the game.

The play was probably on the massive Denny’s menu sized call sheet for 3rd and long and they let some intern coach call the offense in the 4th quarter.

Because they wanted to run a play they would never actually run in that situation with people who would never actually be in the game in that situation if that situation ever occured in a game that means something this year.

Wow. Imagine competing at anything in life and not wanting to win. You're a total dip shite if you think players don't want to win regardless of circumstances. Imagine thinking you shouldn't mimic real in-game coaching decisions and calling a complete buffoon play to lose the game. Run the ball, win the game and move on to the next with positive momentum instead of looking like a retard. The most simple concept I guess some random internet bozo is incapable of comprehending.

It’s practice, boss. As the players level of care goes there is not a winner or loser, simply guys moving up or down the chart.

We’ve heard of coaches making calls before the game to arrange situational play calls. Josh Allen was his teams OC for the third quarter.

They are breaking the monotony of hitting each other and aiming at getting some good film. Not looking at standings around the league.

It was definitely a bizarre play. The camera showed Reid on the sidelines shortly after the interception with a smirky smile on his face.

The 2008 Lions and 2017 Browns both went 4-0 in the preseason. That "momentum" you're speaking of sure did a lot of wonders for them

Accusations of rigging in the preseason? I guarantee you have a gambling problem. Get help, seriously.
