There is something I've noticed about Rodgers. He takes a lot of sacks. I know his o line isn't the greatest but he takes a lot of avoidable sacks. Like he's scared he may throw a pick. Brees rarely takes a sack. His decision making is the fastest in the game. Maybe of all time. May even be the greatest pocket passer of all time.

TIL that taking a sack is just as bad as throwing an interception.

You do realize that Rodgers would crush brees if he averaged 600+ passing attempts a year like brees does? He's the most efficient QB in NFL history.

Aaron Rodgers is to the quarterback position today what Bert Jones was to it back in the mid-1970s: the most talented, gifted, instinctive, nimble, athletic and efficient quarterback the league has ever appreciated. Both were/are fearless, accurate, versatile, smart, diligent and insanely competitive and that was reflected in their statistical production, unfortunately Bert sustained derailing shoulder injuries during the prime of his career which irreparably diminished his potential HOF argument but A-Rod's prime's still happening, I 'member 2016 when his TD/INT ratio was 40/7 on 66% passing, literally insane.

I don't believe there's another QB in history who could have made this throw

Rodgers amazing throw vs Bears

Mate, i never said I was taking Brees over Rodgers. So peel back a tad. I think Rodgers is the best QB to ever play the game.

My point was that "... and it's not even close" is a ridiculous stance to take.

Define crush

You can measure Brees' 600+ pass attempt seasons vs Rodgers only 600+ pass attempt season and see what the metrics say. We dont have to talk volume

Brees has 11 seasons with better or equal yards per game compared to Rodgers 610 pass attempt season
7 seasons with better Comp % than Rodgers 610 pass attempts season
3 seasons with same or equal TD% than Rodgers 610 pass attempts season
7 seasons with a higher Y/A than Rodgers 610 pass attempt season
6 seasons with a higher Y/C than Rodgers 610 pass attempt season

I would like to see Rodgers log a few more 600+ pass attempts seasons TBH to see where he stands.

Brees doesn't make half these plays:

Rodgers Miracle plays

Except that time they walked through there and slaughtered the Falcons by 27 points en route to a Super Bowl title

If this was a better current resume pissing contest, it would be close. If it’s a better QB debate, as dictated by the OP, Rodgers wins in a landslide.

In this entire thread, not one mention of durability. Rodgers has been praised for his ability to extend plays & scramble but that aspect of his game comes with a price. He has more games than Brees from injury standpoint. He also had to play through injuries more because of his style of play. Yes, Brees had the significant shoulder injury that lead to him landing with the Saints but he never missed a game because of that injury since it occurred in the 2005 season finale.

Brees also doesn't have his wife bang him with a strap on like Rodgers.

Brees is 4th of his own era. This site is the best

Based on? His career isn’t over yet either. He should own every major record by the end of it. As in, better stats than Brady, Manning, and the rest (Rodgers still has many years left so we can’t quite compare that yet)

He’s done that and been to the playoffs multiple times with some of the worst defenses in history, never had an all pro (or HoF) WR like the rest, and much of his career didn’t have a great rushing game either.
Manning and especially Brady benefitted from having better teams around them the majority of their careers. Brees still has a shot to tie Manning in Super Bowls AND he beat him head to head.

People criminally underrate Brees and just seem ignorant when the truth is he is just as good, if not better, than the other greats of his era and all time. How many Super Bowls does he have if you put him on those other teams? Quite a few I’d say

Rodgers can do so much more than Brees and has for years without the talent Brees has had around him. Saints fans take off your black and gold blinders.
