Peej, you're a pretty old person and LSU fan, you saw Bert play in his prime with the Colts and that 1972 year when he was a Heisman finalist? You have first-hand personal while I have youtube games and NFL Top 10 episodes.

In a hypothetical all time nfl redraft, there’s a decent chance Rodgers goes #1 overall.
He’s as close to the perfect qb as possible.

This is a clown question. Rodgers has had the best prime, and I don't think Brees career is enough to offset it.

Rodgers amazing throw vs Bears
Brett Favre could, especially in his prime...he used to scamper around back there and make some amazing throws.
This is old man Favre making an amazing throw.

The answer is Drew Brees. But Aaron Rodgers isn’t too far behind and will have some time at the end of his career, after Drew retires, to possibly catch him. Drew is the most accurate passer to ever play the game, and he won a Super Bowl with, up until that point, probably the worst franchise of all time. I am a Saints fan and may be a little biased.

Its not just that Brees played for A bad franchise... Its the idea that Brees has ALWAYS had less to work with than Rogers............ He is brilliant in the pocket and has taken way more punishment than Rogers has ever had...
Don't get me wrong.. Rogers is great but I would give the nod to Brees...........

That's the only time I remember Rodgers sucking in the playoffs. Of course the Giants had their voodoo working and made Brady struggle too.
Bump this thread. I was at that game. About the hardest I've taken a loss in my life....I got white girl wasted as a result.
Anyway, back to original premise...in their prime.
Best year (2011)
Rodgers:
Comp %: 68.3
Yds: 4643
TDs: 45
Int: 6 (45 TDs, 6 INTs...are you serious?)
Yds/game: 309.5
QB Rate: 122.5
QRB: 84.5
Brees (2009)
Comp %: 70.6
Yds: 4388
TDs: 34
Int: 11
Yds/game: 292.5
QB Rate: 109.6
QRB: 83.4
So based on those stats, which I just pulled because they seemed the most relevant, it does appear that in their prime it really wasn't super close between Brees and Rodgers. Aaron may have had the best 16 game season ever as a QB in the NFL. I also didn't include any rushing statistics, which without even looking, I would wager Rodgers was well ahead.
No disrespect to Brees because he's great and I love him, but Rodgers prime is something that's never been seen before.

Saints fans crack me up. Brees has about a 2 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio for his career. Rodgers is 4 to 1. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind who is better.
Posted on 9/11/18 at 6:47 pm to Chucktown_Badger
Both have submitted multiple seasons respectively that are literally insane statistically, A-Rod's 2016 season was as dominant as any I've assessed from him and Drew Brees, hell, where do I even start? LOL I'd probably take A-Rod over Drew primarily because of how effective/efficient A-Rod is when he scrambles and outside the pocket, dude throws catchable lasers, man.

Brees (2009)
Look man. I dont mind you using stats to prove a point. But dont be a cocksucker and say 2009 was Brees's best season.
2011 Brees
46 TDs
14 ints
Yds/game: 342
Rodgers is a better qb but using 09 stats isnt the best way to do it.

Rodgers.
Because no one has ever played the quarterback position at a higher level than peak Aaron Rodgers.
That doesn't mean he's the greatest of all-time, though.

It's like picking between ice cream and cake, just gotta flip a coin bc both performance resumes will be incredibly impressive and appealing

Rodgers has a better arm, better feet, and makes throws that defy physics. The throw to Cook that beat Dallas in the playoffs two years is something that Brees simply cannot do. I'll link a few throws that he has made that Brees can't.
Physics defying throw vs Cowboys
Best throw I've ever seen
As great as Brees is, he just can't make these same plays

Rodgers is the better Qb. Best I’ve ever seen. But Brees is my QB. Dude means everything to this franchise.

This thread is embarrassing. Rogers is the most talented QB to ever play the game.

Rodgers.
Bc of the 2, Brees is guaranteed to cost you more games throwing INTs at crucial times (like Favre and Manning).

You say that as if Rodgers doesn’t mean everything to his franchise.
It’s clear that you’ll never change your mind but you are starting to sound like you are to the Saints what Skip Bayless is to the Cowboys.
No other QB in the history of the NFL has ever combined the talents that Rodgers has. No disrespect to Brees because he is a franchise QB and will be a first ballot HOF selection. It’s just that he is a contemporary of a guy who is doing things we’ve never seen before.
