I think he was behind in the count to almost every batter he faced tonight. This was not the case the last few years. He was always right around the strike zone even when he missed. Without his dominant stuff and getting behind in the count the batters have the advantage now. I think he is averaging at 3 or 4 walks in his last 5 starts.

Throwing like he was used to with his new release point and that elbow is going to blow out
He's going to end up like Spencer Strider and he shouldn't. He needs to use his height and build and pitch like Nolan Ryan and Verlander.

Nolan had a killer curveball to supplement his heat. Skenes just has the heat.

He has more than heat but he's throwing off his side way too much, putting way too much torque on his elbow and shoulder.
It's going to take a rebuild for him to learn how to pitch healthy again, I'm afraid. He doesn't need 6 pitches but he's going to have to narrow things down and go over top more.

For as long as I can remember he would sit in the dugout and scratch the inside of his sweaty a-hole. He would then proceed to vigorously sniff his fingers the entire inning. That is what is wrong with Paul Skenes
