For real. Look, he's the GOAT, but that doesn't mean he's some immortal super human.

frick you. He was 15-17 in his two years. Redefine your definition of "fail miserably."

He's the GOAT of college football and it's not close.

As was evidenced in Atlanta 2 games prior, when Metchie and Williams were out there, UGA’s defense didn’t have what it took. Bama was the far superior team. You can laugh in your own confusion all you’d like

If I'm 52 and have the means to retire I’m doing it, much less at 72.

The playoffs.

When you don't just get inserted into one game for the Championship every year despite rarely being undefeated... It takes a toll.

He went 9-7 and 6-10 in 2 seasons

People have certainly done much worse

Not really his fault he didn’t have the luck of playing in the SEC East or the Big10, he could’ve been undefeated in the regular season for a decade

He made the best of what he had to work through coming out of - by far - the toughest division in the sport

The playoffs

In the 10-year playoff era he made the playoff 8 times, won three titles, and played in 3 other titles games. Don’t think that’s what “broke him.”

What breaks us all is Father time. Time is undefeated with the possible exceptions of Willie Nelson and Keith Richards.

He enjoyed his success off the backs of black young men who were indentured servants to the College System. He couldn't hack it with grown men making their own money in the real world, now he can't hack it when young men making their own money and making their own decisions at the college level.

The only answer is to hire a black coach to makeup for Alabama's Racist Past and Nick Saban's transgressions to the black community.

LANK!

It would be a lot of fun to watch DeMeco Ryans ream LSU in the arse for the next 20 years.
