And Neyland with 4 instead of 1.

I agree, four is too many. It should probably be three (38, 50, and 51), although two (38 and 51) would also be acceptable. 1940 is a bad claim by the university.

04 USC is 1 of the least dominant undefeated teams

That’s because the offense wasn’t what it was in ‘05, especially early in the season. The defense is what got them through the regular season undefeated. And no, every USC fan didn’t say they were better, They knew the defense was a major issue. Again, the ‘04 team was a better all around team, that’s not really even debatable.

05 USC > 04 USC its not even close really.

What? I’ve never even heard any SC fan say this. The ’05 offense was better, but it was basically the same crew as the ’04 team, just with more experience. The difference was the defenses. The ’04 defense was dominant, #1 in the country in rushing defense, # 2 in scoring defense, and #5 in total defense. The ’05 defense was decent, but in the same categories I listed for the ’04 team, the ’05 team ranked 31st, 28th, and 46th, respectively. You can even throw in their 71st ranked pass defense that year.

Another example, in the most important drive of the season, Texas’ game winning one in the Rose Bowl, the Ting twins were on the field trying to help protect the SC lead. Those dudes would have never seen the field in ‘04.

Nobody took them serious until they beat Ohio State in the Big10 Championship

If no one took them seriously after dominating Oregon in Eugene, that’s on them.

He stopped giving a damn once he signed that monster extension.
Jamal Lewis with a tip of the hat to Eric Berry, who was one of the best defensive backs in the country as a true freshman.

I know they didn’t have a ton of leverage, but it seems like a rather weak haul in return for the best pitcher in the sport.

Is there anything new/different than what was on the Prime documentary?

I personally liked the Prime one better. That said, the body cam footage used in the Netflix doc really added something that the Prime one was missing.

The 2001 SEC title game was much worse than the ‘22 South Carolina game. There’s probably about 5-6 more games I’d put ahead of ‘22 South Carolina.

Utk local lawyer to file a motion to UTk judge alum for an injunction in 3...2...1...

Did that with Joey Aguilar and it didn’t work. Probably the only court case that the NCAA had won in the last five years.

Tennessee losing to Wyoming
Memphis in ‘96 was much worse than Wyoming.

Take the QB's away and Florida was still a lot better.

The difference between the two teams was the head coaches. Teams are a reflection of their head coach, and Fulmer coached tight against Spurrier, especially in the mid-90’s. Tennessee was every bit as talented as Florida during the Peyton Manning years. In fact, Tennessee had six more players drafted than Florida during that span.

Might be wrong but Jackie Sherrill coached Pitts Dan Marino and Tony Dorsett teams. Think he has one maybe two titles

Johnny Majors won the title with Pitt in ‘76. Jackie Sherrill second in two occasions, but never won a title.

Wasn’t ‘93 Bowden? Or do you mean ‘83?

Roid Krammit pulled many strings for 10rc.

Like the ‘98 Arky game when the officials screwed Tennessee late in the fourth quarter? Arkansas punter Chris Akin kicked the ball out of the end zone from the field of play. UT was supposed to get the ball around the 10-yard line, not a safety (the SEC office admitted it the next day). A TD there negates the whole Stoerner fumble fiasco.

After winning that game when they shouldn’t have, Tennessee got extremely lucky that FSU’s starting QB was out for the natty

Yeah, Chris Weinke and is 50% completion rate in 1998. He was an absolute monster!!!! Oh by the way, if FSU gets Chris Weinke back, does Tennessee get Jamal Lewis back? I think missing one of the top 3-4 running backs in the country for 75% of the year probably hurt Tennessee’s offense a bit.
$17 million a year for a little patch on the uniform is a pretty sweet deal.
That may be the worst NFL uniform I’ve ever seen.

Why couldn’t tom Osborne win a title until 1994?

If he’d kicked an extra point in ‘83, he would have won one then. To his credit, he went for two.
