The fact that he’s only 2 over, given how awful he’s played today, is rather impressive.

Meh, Cadeau was run out of UNC, and Mara and Johnson were backups at UCLA and Illinois respectively.

Wasn't this one like mind-numbingly awful?
Yes. UCONN shot 35% and won by double digits. Butler shot under 20% for the game.

We went through a five year period where most of the title games were pretty bad.
‘10 Duke/Butler
‘11 UCONN/Butler
‘12 KY/KU
‘14 UCONN/KY

This is just a poorly played game. Not UCONN/Butler circa 2011 bad, but still pretty bad.
re: Win or lose Dan Hurley solidified himself as a top 10 all time coach
Posted by boston vol on 4/6/26 at 4:28 pm to theCAW
He’s borderline top ten.
The Following are absolutely ahead of him for now:
Wooden
K
Pitino
Calhoun
Knight
Rupp
Roy Williams
Dean Smith
That leaves him in a group of Denny Crum, Jay Wright, Bill Self, and Billy Donovan.

Not really strange. Hire great coaches and give them the resources they need in order to be successful and good things will follow. Calhoun is a top ten all time coach. Hurley is headed in that direction.

the first game ended nearly 40 minutes ago. We should be tipping the second game off right about now. Yet, tipoff isn’t until around 9:19. That’s completely ridiculous.

Annual reminder that Hurley wanted the Georgetown job in 2017, but Big John basically forced the administration to hire Patrick Ewing…..

I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep at night knowing that Hurley will possibly have the most titles out of any D1 coach this century.
It’s pretty much guaranteed that he will. He has two, which is only 1 behind both Coach K and Roy Williams. It’s just a matter of time before he passes them both.

He never seriously entertained it. Just said that his agent told him to play the game.

It’s still insane to me that Kentucky didn’t bother trying to hire Dan Hurley 2 years ago
They met with him in NYC and offered him the job.

I am really surprised that UNC hasn't named a replacement yet.
If it’s Donovan, the Bulls have six more games left. If it’s Lloyd, AZ is still playing.

It may not be iconic, but Scotty Thurmon’s rainbow three in the final minute against Duke in the ‘94 final deserves a mention.

Chris Webber’s timeout is certainly iconic.
