You're Stanning for Will Wade so hard. Move to Lake Charles if you don't support the Tigers.

…add another. I think this is just a depth piece. Signed with Cincinnati out of HS and transferred to UC-Santa Barbara. Hits the portal again.

He explained he took Mcneese over some other offers because he believes they have a good path to the NCAA tourney. They’re hosting the conf tourney soon and he thinks he can get some transfers to compete and get in right away.

Not to mention the LHSAA state championships are in Lake Charles. Some of the best talent in state will be traveling to him every year.

They’re in a one bid league. WW should be in a power 5 conference

Wonder if WW can recruit well enough to win two tournament games with all these eyes on him?

The day WW makes the sweet 16 is the day I’ll consider him an above average coach.

His team already has. I promise it wasn’t Tony Benford that made the difference.

Pretty huge pay cut for him.

He was unemployed and not getting paid anything. So it’s better than that.

Starting off with 4 1/2 months of no off campus recruiting is a pretty big deal for a new coach. Will be interesting to see how creative he gets.

He just signed 2 transfers, including one who was a top 50 player out of high school, so I’d say the general is doing just fine. Juggernaut.

So let’s just forget about all the BS you spewed and parse words they alluded to but couldn’t be definitive on.

Again, no one said the NCAA told them Wade was clear and they suspended him and out recruiting restrictions on him.

You’re the one spinning that like it’s just for show, for who?

They get to host a good number of Southland Championships over the next few years b/c the WAC came calling a couple years ago and the Southland didn't want to lose anymore members... basically gave McNeese whatever it wanted to keep them in the Southland

his winning percentage is terrific. on the opportunities he has for the tournament, it was often canceled, or he was fired/suspended.

he is only 40 years old.

the tournament is a coin flip and a bad metric.

A path that involves them winning their conference tournament to then get into a play in game.

Definitely easier than a big Conference school.

He may get McNeese to the tourney but as a 15/16 seed.

No one takes the McNeese job over other “offers” bcs they may get a 15/16 seed.

It was suggested that is why he took the job but stating it doesn’t make it true. It’s total BS.

He took McNeese bcs it was the best offer period not bcs power conference programs (strike that not one power conference program) made an offer.

Neither did any mid major either fwiw.

I hold no ill will toward Wade but this narrative that McNeese was “his” choice among other bigger offers is false. 100% false.

Did he not get offers to be a talking head on tv?

That would rehab his image more than a year in the Southland

I cant Imagine he did.

Otherwise he would have been doing that this past year.

Believe it or not, people don’t really like him outside LOuisiana
