If anyone is the poster boy for system qb, it’s Drew Brees. Over 5k the past 4 years and with 3 losing season. Payton has developed Drew Brees into a system qb, but unfortunately their system leaves the defense on the field with high passing and quick scoring/Drew Brees pick 6.

Drew Brees is a system QB.
Brady is an MVP frontrunner at 40.
The jealousy and butthurt is palpable.

I agree with OP for the most part.
He's a great QB but he has benefited tremendously from being in Belichick's system and operation.
To me he's like an NFL version of collegiate AJ McCarron. A very good QB who wins tons of championships, but he's benefiting tremendously from the program he's in.

So has Joe Montana relative to Bill Walsh/Mike Holmgren and the West Coast Offense, *stamp* OVERRATED

Bill Belicheck's system also created a ton of crappy Browns QBs.
Kosar was a better QB before BB ruined hin into retirement,
Belichick was the worst coach the Browns ever had.
He had 6 years to make the Browns into something and he failed miserably.
BUt he shows up tp NE puts in Brady on the last second...and suddenly wins Super Bowls.
Tom Brady told Kraft on Draft Day, this will be the best decision you ever made.
And he was right.
because BB has never won shite without TB.

Emmitt Smith? How many of those "GREAT" offensive linemen are in the Hall of Fame? ONE and that is Larry Allen and Smith won THREE NFL rushing titles before Allen got to the NFL genius!

quote:this is the billion dollar answer. The QB completes any system. Tom Brady is complete with a hand full of rings. Im a saints fan for life and Drew Brees is my guy, but Tom Brady is the mother fricking GOAT.
Why isn't everyone running the Pats "system?"

I wouldn’t say overrated, as I view him as an all-time great. He’s a top 10 QB from a historical perspective, but not the GOAT. He’s definitely not the GOAT.

He is, and he's in the perfect system, hence the success.

They won the SB without Gronk last year

Best football player to walk this planet. You’re a clown

Brady deals quietly with the hand he is dealt.
Edelman missed entire season this year.
Gronk missed playoffs last year.
Patriots lost two super bowls on last possession "freak" catches for the ages.
Helmet catch.

He’s LIGHT YEARS better than Montana.
Joe Montana IS the most over-rated player in NFL history and was the absolute DEFINITION of a “system quarterback”.
