You didn't take care of your current stadium so here's a brand new one to not take care of

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that. That's not exactly a ringing recommendation for gouging the taxpayers by admitting you were wasteful the previous time around.

Saw the Badger logo and started thinking Camp Randall, Kinnick, The Big House, The Horseshoe. Amazing how college teams can play in stadiums that are 100 years old and periodically upgrade them yet NFL teams can't get 25 years out of a stadium before they need a new one.

Because there’s nothing wrong with the titans stadium. Titans stadium is probably better then most college stadiums, and by most I mean 90%. But when you compare it to Jerry World, the new Vegas stadium, etc. it is ‘dated’ in that its not a top 25 stadium in the world.

It’s laughable to say it’ll take $1.8 bil to maintain through 2039 or $2.2 bil to build new, when building new is still going to take considerable money to ‘maintain’ as the maintaince never goes away.

One, if not both of these dollar amounts is a lie.

Those trend setting stadiums have made half of the stadiums in the NFL subpar and are resetting the market for what is considered a "modern" stadium. Stadiums that are only 20-25 years old are going to be torn down for new stadiums to meet the "new" demand. Something that should be gaining more and more attention...is the situation in Cincinnati. The stadium lease ends in 2026 and he current city council has no intention of extending the lease. The Bengals have no indoor facility. This is going to be something everyone should be keeping their eye on. The Brown family is cheap...there's zero chance they are spending a dime on a new stadium. It could get real testy!!!

Here is a link to a news story in the Cincinnati Enquirer about this increasingly serious situation.

Does Mike Brown even make it to 2025-26 (he's 86 now)?

Nissan Stadium really isn't that bad. Sure, it's bland and it feels like you're in the early 2000's, but it's not like it's a piece of shite in an inconvenient location like FedEx Field.

The Titans and the TN state representatives are just looking to cash in on the boom the Nashville area is experiencing. The convenience of walking to Nissan from Broadway is what the Titans should be capitalizing on. It's not like more Titans fans are just going to appear out of nowhere - they need to accept that Nashville is a top tourist destination and that visiting fans will almost always outnumber home fans. Might as well try make it fun and suck every penny they can out of the visitors by keeping it close to the tourist bars.

I went to a Tennessee Oilers game in Memphis AND when they played in Vanderbilt's stadium in the 90's. Even though I was young, it was awesome when Adelphia (now Nissan) Stadium finally opened. They should just try improving it.

Nissan Stadium is far from a "dump".

Dude, this is the MSB
*any stadium older than five years is a dump.
*any stadium not slated for "improvement" is a dump

Literally everything is a dump on this board.
If folks want their living room comfort, then stay in the living room. It's an athletic event, you'll be in and out in three to three-and-a-half hours.

That is somewhat of a bummer. I like stadiums that aren't enclosed. And it looks like the new Bills stadiums won't be open air either.

So a stadium that when built (1999) was already 24 years younger than the Superdome (1975) will be replaced while the now 47 year old Superdome gets new ramps and windows and other bandaids and Saints fans pretend that it has the allure of Lambeau and Soldier Field.

Ms. Benson will be using this as another nail when she comes to the state demanding a new stadium in 5 years or so.

I thought cities had somewhat wised up on this issue, but obviously not. As a taxpayer I would not want my tax dollars spent subsidizing any Stadium, but especially not a football stadium that is used for like 10 football games and a handful of concerts.

It is such a racket.

And this study showing such high costs could not be more transparent as an attempt to justify the expense of a new stadium.

People give Kraft shite for the rug and tug, but at least he's man enough to get all private funds to pay for the stadium.
