For DECADES the schools didn't seem to feel too bad about constantly raising ticket prices to point where at many places a single season ticket costs $1,000 - $1,5000+. Of course, that includes the school imposed required "donation" just for the right to buy a $500+ season ticket. The conferences and member schools haven't seemed to feel too bad about negotiating larger, and larger TV contracts, and I don't see the conferences refusing to accept the hundreds of millions they get annually, nor the schools giving back their share of tens of millions. The coaches haven't seemed to feel too bad about leveraging multi-million dollar salaries with multi-million dollar buyouts when they are inevitably fired.

But yes, money has only become an issue since 2021 because the players would like their share of the hundreds of millions they help generate

It’s better than ever. Indiana winning with 30 25 year old transfers is the most inspiring story of 2026

Congrats to The JPMorganChase Buckeyes.

Yup. "Ohio State" should be removed from the name. JP MorganChase Buckeyes based out of Columbus, Ohio. Cannot wait for more of this.

The Morgan & Morgan Wildcats based out of Lexington, KY!

$17 million a year for a little patch on the uniform is a pretty sweet deal.

Why are people melting over this ?
Teams have been getting paid to wear the Nike Slash for decades.

I was thinking this was already a lot more common than it actually is, apparently only a handful of schools do this already.

Interesting though:

Wisconsin signed a deal with Culver's which is hilariously on brand for them.

The Big 10 seems to be pushing things forward at one heck of a clip.

Add to that their heinous crimes and shite they do to kids and hide and you’ve got one despicable organization.

Why didn't people freak out when their teams were paid for wearing Nike Slash?
That's been going on for decades.
What's the difference ?

I'll be disgusted by it. I know A&M will do it soon enough w/how fricking money hungry the school has become but I'm still going to hate it.

Probably means I'll only be buying unlicensed team apparel from here on out b/c I refuse to wear shite covered in ugly corporate ads.

If you can make $17 million selling one patch, why not make $170 million selling 10?

It's really gross how they do shite like this and the fans have absolutely no recourse at all. Outside of completely stopping watching (which they know you won't actually do) you have no power so they rape your loyalty whenever possible.
