Yup. "Ohio State" should be removed from the name. JP MorganChase Buckeyes based out of Columbus, Ohio. Cannot wait for more of this.

The Morgan & Morgan Wildcats based out of Lexington, KY!

At least Chase bank is actually headquartered in Columbus

Rumor was $100M total over 9 years, but across 19 sports, not all like OSU's 37.

If only Arkansas had rowing, lacrosse, fencing, field hockey, and synchronized swimming. Maybe they could've squeezed that extra $6M a year out of Tyson

Why didn't people freak out when their teams were paid for wearing Nike Slash?
That's been going on for decades.
What's the difference ?

The difference is probably that Nike was at least manufacturing the jerseys and equipment. Just like the back of helmets said Riddell. Not quite the same as just paying to slap your logo everywhere.

Having the logo of a sports apparel company on your team's sports apparel that that company provided is not the same as having a patch for a bank or a chicken finger fast food restaurant.

Going to be fun when a team gets cancelled because of their corporate sponsor.

Which SEC team is going to get into bed with a Saudi royal for an SEC title?

For DECADES the schools didn't seem to feel too bad about constantly raising ticket prices to point where at many places a single season ticket costs $1,000 - $1,5000+. Of course, that includes the school imposed required "donation" just for the right to buy a $500+ season ticket. The conferences and member schools haven't seemed to feel too bad about negotiating larger, and larger TV contracts, and I don't see the conferences refusing to accept the hundreds of millions they get annually, nor the schools giving back their share of tens of millions.

That's all true, but they were in a constant arms race to build palaces for the 3-4 year "workers". Your company might make as much as an SEC team in a year, but they aren't putting in a world class luxurious break room with a barber and a nutrition center for you, nor would they hire people to help you do all of your work while you are employed.

The schools weren't stacking money, they were reinvesting it into the experience of the players.

The coaches haven't seemed to feel too bad about leveraging multi-million dollar salaries with multi-million dollar buyouts when they are inevitably fired.

Can't argue with this, but just like in the real world, the CEO makes a LOT more than short term employees.

They got scholarships, stipends, under the table stuff, and a whale of a luxurious experience while in college.

2020 was a retards revolution.

Ohio State's jersey patch deal with Chase will pay them $15 million annually but they don't get to say they're playing football in the Monster Energy Big Ten Conference

It’s all fun and games until LSU has some personal injury firm plastered on the front

LSU’s actually looks decent and blends with the uniform colors

Surprised more teams haven’t had theirs announced.

wonder how long it takes for a player to wear black tape over the sponsor for "supporting genocide" or whatever, Ted Lasso style

Depends on how much they value the NIL money they are receiving. I could see it happening in some of the minor sports where making a statement like that wouldn’t cost them much.
