So if you are an actual die hard USC fan I would think you would watch the game and do those other things any other day of the year. And seeing how they don't really support their pro football teams either I just don't think LA has much of a football culture at all. The Rams have been to 2 SBs and winning one and still need to do silent counts at their own home games because visiting fans outnumber home fans. Other major cities that have teams in all major sports will still support the pro football team at least even if there's not much of a college football fandom. And that's ok, but blaming it on weather and traffic or other things to do in the area is just ignoring the crux of the issue, is that football in general just doesn't seem to be very popular among the locals there and that's really all that needs to be said.

I am not even sure that is true. Southern California isn’t the dominant hyper power it was in youth and high school football as it was 30 years ago, but it’s still very, very good. Good enough that Southern California all on its own is the 2nd or 3rd most prolific producer of NFL talent in America.
As others have said in this thread, Miami has had similar issues for similar reasons, and no one with half a brain would say football isn’t a cultural cornerstone in South Florida.
UCLA has problems because they’ve sucked for so long that a large chunk of adult fans hardly remember the last time they were legitimately good (late 90’s). USC’s primary problem is that they are a soft program full of soft bitches, from their president and head coach on down. Fans don’t want to turn out for that.

I watched the game. There’s no doubt USC could have blown them out, but that’s not what happened. LOL

So, all off season we saw threads where everyone said the sport is dying and they were losing interest and threatening to leave. So, now that USC fans are doing that you guys are blasting them? Make it make sense.
And you guys also say the SECCG is no longer needed and should go away yet in 3 months 70,000 fans will pay hundreds of dollars for a ticket. Again, make it make sense?

They're usually late for games. Especially when it's this hot. Once they play someone important, more will come.

Other than the Dodgers. LA is a terrible sports town. The Rams routinely have more opposing fans at SOFI than their own.

We won 7 of 8 against those soft bitches then they cancelled the series. "Not anymore"? Since when?

20 years later the crowds make complete sense. And the older fans (if they’re even in SoCal) don’t feel as connected to the school they went to. They don’t get the experience of a 50yo in Baton Rouge going to campus and having as much fun as they did 30 years ago. They go into a void. The passion inevitably fades and it’s a fandom death spiral with no escape. That picture isn’t a mistake, that’s what USC will always be going forward Miami went through the same thing at essentially the same time, and now we have the same photos there.
